Happy International Postdoc Appreciation Week to SCMB EMCR's 🤩 🥳
EMCR@UQ held their first ever EMCR Appreciation Day event this morning, with the aim to facilitate constructive dialogue between EMCR's and Executives.
Across UQ, EMCR's represent 70% of the workforce 😱
This number highlights how important it is that EMCR's feel supported and are recognised for their hard work!
It was clear to both sides that EMCR's feel the need for commitment from UQ for career development opportunities, and that supportive supervisors and mentors are vital to navigating this career stage.
Along these lines, the SCMB EMCR Committee are working hard to get our first mentoring scheme up and running 😅
A great message to come out of the discussions this morning was this: learn from other EMCR's, support each other, and build collaborative relationships with each other.
For those interested, you can sign up to the EMCR@UQ Network here 👉
