The Writing Center at AUW We work with the students of the Asian University for Women to make better writers through one-on-on We seek to empower students through collaboration.

What we can do for you:
Writing center tutors are trained to work with writers at all levels, with an emphasis on second language learning skills. We do this by focusing on the following methods:
•We encourage writers to explore their own discourse patterns and writing processes in order to learn new ones
•We give writers agency over their linguistic choices by introducing them to new language re

sources
•We emphasize an awareness of the rhetorical context and objectives involved in the communicative act of writing
•We challenge writers to develop their own effective problem-solving strategies
