Team Vertex from CIU Business School - CIUBS has become the Runner-up at the "Drishty Brainstorming Business Idea Contest: Season 14", Alhamdulillah! Congratulations 🎉👏 to Team Vertex. Around 32 teams from different universities of Chattogram had participated in this competition. Of the 4 finalists, two teams were from University of Chittagong, one from CIU, and another team was from Southern University. A team from CU stood 4th while Southern was 3rd. CIU became the Runner up and another team from CU became the Champion at the contest. It is our immense pleasure to contratulate Zerin, Muhib and Subhana Chowdhury, students of CIUBS, who were the part of the Team Vertex 🤩

CIU Business School and CIU Ai Center had jointly organized a seminar on "Building an AI- First Startup: Lessons from the Trenches", held yesterday on July 9, 2026 at CIU Auditorium. It was attended by Mr. S. M. Mahbub Murshed - Founder and Head of AI at Causal Dynamics Lab, and former Software Engineering Manager at Microsoft, Seattle, USA - as a Resource Person.

Mr. Mufaddal Abbasi, founder of Babji Traders, credits his business education with reshaping his entrepreneurial perspective. According to him, the program equipped him with the critical skills needed to analyze complex market risks, and to put the lessons into actions.

Mr. Abbasi expresses his views while visiting campus recently. He holds both a BBA - with double majors in International Business and Accounting - and an MBA from CIU Business School.

He makes a great example for the next generation of entrepreneures by successfully heading up his business from the front lines.

CIU Business School holds the 5th Episode of the "Connecting with C-Suite" Series!

The 5th episode of the Connecting with C-Suite series, one of the flagship events of the Business School at Chittagong Independent University (CIU), was held on June 30, 2026 (Tues) at the university auditorium in Jamal Khan, Chattogram.

The session, titled "The Skill Half-Life: Staying Relevant in a World That Won't Slow Down," was graced by Mr. Ziaul Hoque Khan, Chief Business Officer of CPDL as the key speaker.

During his address, Mr. Khan stated that continuous learning, acquiring new skills, and the ability to adapt to change are essential for students and professionals to remain relevant throughout their careers. He encouraged students to consistently develop their competencies, gain practical experience, and cultivate leadership qualities.

The event was hosted by Business School students - Mr. Mushfiq us Salehin and Ms. Subhana Haque Chowdhury.

Connecting with C-Suite is an ongoing initiative of the CIU Business School that provides students with the opportunity to engage directly with senior C-Suite leaders.
