The Center for Peace Studies (CPS), North South University, successfully hosted the CPS High-Level National Dialogue titled “Securing Bangladesh’s Future: Rethinking National Security in a New and Changing Era” at NSU.
The dialogue brought together distinguished academics, security experts, and former senior military officials, including National Professor Dr. Mahbub Ullah, Eminent Economist and Educationist and National Professor, Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, as Chief Guest; Major General (Retd.) Fazle Elahi Akbar, ndc, psc, MDS, Chairman, Foundation for Strategic and Development Studies (FSDS), Dhaka, as Special Guest; and Prof. Abdul Hannan Chowdhury, Vice-Chancellor, North South University, as Session Chair.
The distinguished speakers and discussants included Lieutenant General (Retd.) Mohammad Mahfuzur Rahman, rcds, ndc, afwc, psc, PhD, Chairman, Osmani Centre for Peace and Security Studies (OCPASS); Major General (Retd.) Nayeem Ashfaque Chowdhury, SBP, OSP, SUP, psc, PhD, Vice Chairman, OCPASS; Major General (Retd.) Ibne Fazal Shayekhuzzaman, BSP (BAR), SGP, afwc, psc, Former Commandant, Defence Services Command and Staff College (DSCSC); Major General (Retd.) Md Wahid-Uz-Zaman, SBP, BSP, ndc, psc, Former Commandant, Military Institute of Science and Technology (MIST); Rear Admiral (Retd.) M. Anwar Hossain, NGP, PCGM, BCGMS, ndc, afwc, psc, MPhil, Academic Adviser, National Defence College (NDC); and Commodore (Retd.) Syed Misbah Uddin Ahmad, (C), NUP, ndc, afwc, psc, BN, Director General, Bangladesh Institute of Maritime Research and Development (BIMRAD).
The session was moderated by Prof. Dr. M Jashim Uddin, Director, Center for Peace Studies (CPS) and Professor, Department of Political Science and Sociology, North South University.
