💼 From Classroom to Corporate: An Industry Visit to Incepta Pharmaceuticals

The School of Pharmacy, BRAC University organized an educational visit to the Head Office of Incepta Pharmaceuticals Ltd. at Tejgaon, Dhaka, on 22 September 2026, with students of the 3rd Year, 2nd Semester, accompanied by two faculty members.

The visit was organized to provide our students with valuable real-world exposure to the different professional functions that contribute to the pharmaceutical industry beyond manufacturing. During the visit, students had the opportunity to explore the Marketing Department along with other key areas of the corporate office and gain insights into how different teams work together to bring pharmaceutical products to the market.

Through engaging discussions and interactions with professionals, our students gained a better understanding of pharmaceutical marketing, brand development, product positioning, market strategy, corporate operations, and the decision-making processes involved in the pharmaceutical business. The experience helped connect concepts discussed in the classroom with their practical application in the professional world.

A particularly proud and memorable moment was meeting some of our BRAC University alumni who are currently working at Incepta Pharmaceuticals Ltd. It was inspiring to see our former students contributing to such a renowned pharmaceutical organization and to hear about their professional experiences. Their presence served as a wonderful reminder of the diverse career opportunities and pathways available to our students after graduation. 🎓

Visits such as these provide students with a broader perspective of the diverse career opportunities available to pharmacists and help them understand the skills, professionalism, and teamwork required to succeed in the pharmaceutical industry.

We sincerely appreciate Incepta Pharmaceuticals Ltd. for welcoming our students and for providing them with this valuable learning opportunity. We are grateful to the management and professional teams at Incepta for their time, cooperation, and willingness to share their knowledge and experiences with our students.

🏭 𝗕𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗣𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲: 𝗔𝗻 𝗘𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗩𝗶𝘀𝗶𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗔𝗿𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗽𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗺𝗮 𝗟𝘁𝗱.💊

The School of Pharmacy, BRAC University organized an industrial visit to the Gachha Plant of Aristopharma Ltd., Gazipur, on 21 September 2026, with the students of 4th Year, 1st Semester (27th Batch, Section 2), accompanied by four faculty members.

The one-day visit was an enriching and highly successful learning experience, providing our students with the opportunity to witness firsthand the sophisticated processes, facilities, and professional environment of a modern pharmaceutical manufacturing plant.

A major highlight of the visit was the dedicated Ophthalmic Manufacturing Facility, where students had the opportunity to observe ophthalmic production, quality control, and packaging operations. Aristopharma’s ophthalmic division has a significant presence in Bangladesh, with its official information reporting around 35% market share, alongside a dedicated high-tech manufacturing facility in Gazipur.

Students also visited the dedicated Cephalosporin Facility, where they observed the production, quality control, packaging, and finished-goods storage processes for both oral and parenteral cephalosporin products. The Gachha campus houses dedicated facilities for cephalosporin and ophthalmic products and has been developed in accordance with standards for regulated markets.

Beyond the manufacturing processes, the visit gave our students valuable insight into aspects that are often discussed primarily in theory, including pharmaceutical plant layout, cleanroom design, air-shower systems, HVAC considerations, facility design justification, process optimization, and the integration of quality into pharmaceutical manufacturing. Seeing the actual machinery, production environments, and systems helped transform concepts from textbooks and lectures into a tangible understanding of real-world pharmaceutical operations.

The warmth and hospitality extended by the entire Aristopharma team made the experience even more memorable. Everyone we interacted with was exceptionally welcoming, cooperative, and generous with their time. The professional environment and friendly atmosphere of the plant left a lasting impression on our students and allowed them to envision the possibilities of building their future careers within the pharmaceutical industry.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the management and entire team of Aristopharma Ltd. for arranging such a valuable learning opportunity and for making our students feel so welcome throughout the day. We were especially grateful for the time and attention given by the professionals who accompanied us and shared their knowledge and experiences at each facility.

A special note of appreciation goes to Mr. Muhammad Ashraful Islam, Associate Director, Gachha Plant, for facilitating the visit and, most importantly, for dedicating his entire day to accompanying our group throughout the different facilities. His kind guidance and generous support made the visit exceptionally meaningful for our students.

The day concluded with a wonderful lunch hosted by Aristopharma, adding a warm and memorable touch to an already enriching experience. 🍽️

The School of Pharmacy, BRAC University organized an educational visit to the Operational Headquarters of Eskayef Pharmaceuticals Limited (Eskayef) in Banani, Dhaka, with students of the 3rd Year, 2nd Semester, accompanied by three faculty members.

Designed to provide students with real-world exposure to the concepts covered in their Pharmaceutical Marketing course, the visit offered an insightful look into how a leading pharmaceutical company operates beyond the manufacturing floor.

During the visit, students had the opportunity to interact with professionals from several key functions, including the Marketing, Regulatory Affairs, and Supply Chain teams, along with other relevant areas of the organization. Through engaging presentations and discussions by members of Eskayef's management and professional teams, students gained valuable insights into brand building, product positioning, market strategy, regulatory considerations, supply chain management, and the different processes involved in bringing a pharmaceutical product from concept to the market.

One of the particularly valuable lessons was understanding how pharmaceutical brands differentiate themselves in a competitive market—how scientific value, effective communication, strategic positioning, and a clear understanding of healthcare professionals and patients come together to build a successful brand.

The visit was not only academically enriching but also a memorable professional experience for our students. The warm hospitality, thoughtful arrangements, and generous time extended by the Eskayef team and its management made the experience especially meaningful.

We would like to express our sincere gratitude to the top management and all the professionals at Eskayef Pharmaceuticals Limited who took the time to share their knowledge, experiences, and perspectives with our students. Their willingness to engage with the next generation of pharmacists is deeply appreciated.

The School of Pharmacy, BRAC University, in collaboration with the BRAC University Pharma Society (BUPS), successfully organized a seminar titled “Understanding Oncology: Essential Knowledge for Future Pharmacists” on 3 September 2026. The program was generously sponsored by Eskayef Pharmaceuticals Ltd.

The event commenced with welcome remarks from Dr. David Dowland, Registrar, BRAC University, followed by an address from Professor Arshad Mahmud Chowdhury, Pro-Vice-Chancellor and Dean, School of Pharmacy, who emphasized the importance of developing a strong foundation in oncology among future pharmacists.

The keynote session was conducted by Prof. (Brig Gen) Dr. Md. Quadrat-E-Elahi, Ex-HOD, Cancer Center, CMH, Dhaka, and Professor of Medicine & Senior Consultant. He provided valuable insights into cancer development, its management and therapeutic approaches, as well as the mechanisms and applications of medications used in cancer treatment. The session also highlighted the importance of early screening, preventive measures, and lifestyle modifications, reinforcing the principle that “Prevention is better than cure.”

The seminar concluded with an engaging interactive Q&A session, providing students with the opportunity to directly interact with the distinguished speaker and further explore different aspects of oncology. A quiz session, organized by Nasiha Tahsin, Senior Product Executive, Product Management Department, Eskayef Pharmaceuticals Ltd., further encouraged active student participation. Five students were recognized and awarded for their knowledge and outstanding performance.

The School of Pharmacy, BRAC University, is delighted to congratulate Sahira Samin on her remarkable achievement at “Shevolution 2026,” the second edition of the Bangladesh Debating Council’s women-centred debating and creative tournament, hosted by Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB).

We are proud to announce that Sahira emerged as the Winner of the Story Writing Segment. Her award-winning story, “The Other Side of the Front Door,” was based on the theme “Margins and Boundaries” and thoughtfully explored the societal limitations and boundaries imposed on women.

In recognition of her outstanding achievement, she was awarded a crest and prize money.

Celebrating Research Excellence | RQJP 2026

As BRAC University celebrates 25 years of learning, discovery, and innovation, we are proud to celebrate the achievements recognised through the Quality Journal Publication Award 2026 (RQJP 2026).
