রবার্ট মুগাবে একবার বলেছিলেন:

"...যখন তোমার বেতন ঠিক সময়ে আসে, তখন তুমি মুরগির মাংস খেতে পারো।

আর যখন বেতন কমে যায়, তখন হয়তো তুমি মুরগির পণ্য—যেমন ডিম—খাবে।

এরপর এমন সময় আসবে যখন তুমি মুরগি যা খায়—যেমন ভুট্টা আর গম—তা-ই খেতে শুরু করবে...

সবশেষে, যখন বেতন পুরোপুরি ফুরিয়ে যাবে, তখন তুমি নিজেই মুরগির মতো হয়ে যাবে—

দিনের বেশিরভাগ সময় খাবারের খোঁজে ঘুরে বেড়াবে।

তোমার বেতন আসলে একটা বীজের মতো, যার কিছু অংশ বাঁচিয়ে বিনিয়োগে লাগানো উচিত,

কারণ শুধুমাত্র বেতন তোমার সব আর্থিক সমস্যা সমাধান করতে পারবে না।

এখনই একটা বিকল্প পরিকল্পনা নাও,

কারণ বুদ্ধিমত্তার সঙ্গে বিনিয়োগ করলে এমন দিন আসবে যখন তুমি ইচ্ছেমতো মুরগি খেতে পারবে!

যদি পারো... চেষ্টা করো বিনিয়োগ নিয়ে ভাবতে—

কারণ তুমি চিরকাল তরুণ থাকবে না!

তোমার জীবনের নিরাপত্তা নিয়ে ভাবো—কারণ তুমি চিরকাল শক্তিশালীও থাকবে না!

তোমার আয় বাড়ানোর পথ নিয়ে ভাবো—

কারণ তুমি চিরকাল চাকুরিজীবীও থাকবে না। (Collected)

***শীতার্ত মানুষের পাশে ডুয়েলা ডুয়েলা***

শীতবস্ত্র বিতরণ কার্যক্রম (চলমান)

ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় ইংরেজি ভাষা অ্যালামনাই অ্যাসোসিয়েশন (ডুয়েলা) শীতার্ত ও সুবিধাবঞ্চিত মানুষের সহায়তায় একটি মানবিক উদ্যোগ গ্রহণ করেছে। সংগঠনের সম্মানিত সদস্যদের উদার অনুদানে কম্বল বিতরণের কার্যক্রম বর্তমানে চলমান রয়েছে।

এই চলমান কর্মসূচির অংশ হিসেবে ডুয়েলার সম্মানিত সভাপতি ও কোষাধ্যক্ষ বর্তমানে বাংলাদেশের উত্তরাঞ্চলে অবস্থান করছেন এবং সরাসরি শীতার্ত মানুষের মাঝে কম্বল বিতরণ তদারকি করছেন। উল্লেখ্য, এ কার্যক্রমটি লায়ন্স ফাউন্ডেশন–এর সাথে যৌথভাবে পরিচালিত হচ্ছে। পাশাপাশি, কর্মসূচির একটি অংশ ঢাকায় অবস্থিত অসহায় শিক্ষার্থীদের মাঝেও বিতরণ করা হবে।

ডুয়েলা এই মানবিক উদ্যোগে সহযোগিতার জন্য সকল সম্মানিত সদস্য, শুভানুধ্যায়ী ও সহযোগী প্রতিষ্ঠানকে আন্তরিক ধন্যবাদ জানাচ্ছে। ভবিষ্যতেও এ ধরনের মানবিক ও সামাজিক কার্যক্রমে সবার আরও সক্রিয় অংশগ্রহণ প্রত্যাশা করছে ডুয়েলা।

DUELAA Stands with the Winter-Stricken

DUELAA Winter Relief Program (Ongoing)

Dhaka University English Language Alumni Association (DUELAA) has undertaken a humanitarian initiative to support winter-affected and underprivileged communities. With the generous contributions of its respected members a significant number of blankets is currently underway.

As part of this ongoing program, DUELAA’s Honorable President and Treasurer are presently in Northern Bangladesh, directly supervising the blanket distribution among the winter-stricken people. The initiative is being implemented jointly with Lions Foundation. In addition, a portion of the blankets will be distributed among underprivileged students in Dhaka.

DUELAA sincerely expresses its gratitude to all respected members, well-wishers, and partner organizations for their valuable support. The association looks forward to greater and more active participation in future humanitarian and social initiatives.

Dear Members,
Good evening.
I am pleased to inform you all that DUELAA in collaboration with Lion Foundation has taken initiative to distribute warm clothes among the have-nots countrywide.
In consultation with our honourable EC member, Didarul Islam , I heard there are some poverty stricken students/ staffs in DU as well who also need warm clothes to withstand the extreme cold weather experiencing across the country.
May I request Mr Didarul Islam to make a list of such people that really deserve such support from us. I would appreciate his early action if possible.
