Bangladesh ranks 124th of 139 economies on industry R&D collaboration. Why? Our Program Director Dr. Nazlee Siddiqui and Syed Mansur Hashim (Director, Public Relations, NSU) argue in The Financial Express that the gap in academia-industry-government partnership is one of governance, not funding.

It is possible that Bangladesh has started to fund academic-industry collaboration, but such funding is still transactional and not supporting knowledge dissemination across AIG. Hence, it is not a surprise that the 2025 Global Innovation Index reporting by World Intellectual Property Organisation

North South University (NSU), through its School of Business and Economics (SBE), partnered with Yunus Centre to host the Social Business Innovation Summit 2026 at the university campus. One breakout session, moderated by our program director Professor Nazlee Siddiqui, saw enthusiastic participation from MBA students. The interactive dialogue sparked fresh ideas, with panelists answering questions and inspiring future changemakers.

North South University’s Counseling and Wellbeing Center, along with MBA & EMBA Programs and the MBA Club, hosted an awareness session titled “Running on Empty: Managing Burnout "and Protecting Mental Health in Work, Life and Study" on June 15, 2026.
The event gathered students, faculty, staff, and professionals to discuss burnout’s impact and strategies for resilience.

Dr. Nahid Siddiqui and Ms. Atia Masuda Bilkis highlighted the challenges faced by Bangladeshi graduate students, explaining burnout’s warning signs and coping methods. Participants engaged in mindfulness exercises and learned evidence-based approaches to stress management.

NSU leaders emphasized prioritizing wellbeing and reaffirmed the university’s commitment to fostering a supportive, mentally healthy campus.

North South University’s MBA and EMBA program hosted an exclusive leadership and strategy session with Ruhul Quddus Khan, CEO & Managing Director of Unilever Bangladesh, on June 16, 2026, at the NSU Syndicate Hall.

Joined by Vice‑Chancellor Professor Abdul Hannan Chowdhury and Board of Trustees Chairman Aziz Al Kaiser, the event highlighted Unilever’s approach to ethical leadership, inclusive management, and strategic business growth in Bangladesh.
