Department of ICT, Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP) takes immense pride in congratulating Shanjida Sultana Jemey on earning the BRONZE HONOUR at the International Physics Competition (IPyC) 2025, a crowning achievement that showcases her exceptional talent.

The final round, a rigorous supervised examination of 30 complex questions, demanded profound physics knowledge. Shanjida excelled with an impressive score of 26 points, securing her position within the elite top 8% of ~5600 participants worldwide, a truly outstanding feat among global competitors.

This achievement is a resounding testament to the caliber of BUP students and the enriching academic environment our university proudly fosters. Shanjida has made the BUP family proud on the international stage.

We are proud to announce that Shariar Nasim Shawon and Sumaiya Sanzida from the Department of ICT recently participated in the Grand Finale of the Mapathon 2026: Multi-Hazard Early Warning Innovation Challenge Hackathon, held at Hotel Sheraton and organized by RIMES Bangladesh.
Among 32 national submissions, their innovative project “AgamBarta AI”, an AI- and GIS-based early warning system, secured a position in the Top 11. As finalists, they were also honored with the Excellence Award.
The project focuses on improving safety for vulnerable coastal communities by transforming complex technical forecasts into regional dialects and delivering them through standard phone calls, ensuring timely and accessible early warnings for all.

We are beyond thrilled to celebrate the remarkable achievement of our brilliant student, Shanjida Sultana Jemey, BICE-22, for earning this prestigious recognition through the International Astronomical Search Collaboration program!

Her dedication, passion, and intellectual excellence have truly set her apart. Contributing to the observation of near-Earth objects and Main Belt asteroids through the analysis of Pan-STARRS (Panoramic Survey Telescope and Rapid Response System) images at Haleakalā Observatory, Hawaii, is no small feat; it reflects not only her hard work but also her curiosity to explore the vast mysteries of the universe. Notably, she contributed to the detection of 5 faint preliminary asteroids, out of only 9 such detections from Bangladesh by 4 teams, marking the highest contribution from the country. This outstanding performance highlights her as a leading contributor in Bangladesh’s participation in the program.

This accomplishment, supported by a NASA-affiliated initiative, speaks volumes about her talent, perseverance, and commitment to scientific discovery. Achievements like this inspire us all to dream bigger, aim higher, and believe in the power of knowledge.

8th Raising Day has been successfully observed at the Dept. of ICT under Faculty of Science and Technlogy on 25th January 2023.

8 years back, Dept of ICT was inaugurated with the motto of providing quality education on IT and Communication fields for the students of the department. In last 8 years, with many achievements, Dept. of ICT prevailed the challenges and now in course of setting a standard of IT education in undergraduate level among the public universities in Bangladesh.

In the event, the respected Dean of the Faculty of Science and Technology, Brig. Gen. Mostofa Kamal Gani, Chairman of the Dept. of ICT, Prof. Dr Kazi Abu Taher were present among the faculty members and the students.

The short event was organised by the ongoing students with celebration T-Shirt, and colorful banners. On the 8th raising day of the department of ICT, the faculty members and students are looking forward to bringing more success and glory in the upcoming days.

Male Donor লাগার কারন হচ্ছে যে, রক্ত টা কে ২/২.৫ ঘন্টার একটা প্রসেসের মাধ্যমে এক প্রকার প্লাজমা বানিয়ে তারপর দিতে হচ্ছে, এখানে প্লাটিলেটের একটা ব্যাপার আছে, যেটা পুরুষদের রক্তে বেশি থাকে, মেয়েদের রক্তে কম থাকে।

The Inauguration Ceremony of IEEE Bangladesh University Of Professionals Student Branch and celebration of World IEEE Day 2017 was held on 18th of October in a grand manner.
All the members and executive body and students of Dept. of ICT worked day and night in order to make this event a successful one.
The event included ICT Olympiad and seminar on DELAY TOLERANT NETWORK and lastly a Closing Ceremony with some beautiful performances of the members. The winners of the olympiad were awarded with crests and certificates by the pro VC of BUP during the ceremony.
The ceremony was concluded by cake-cutting. Vice Chancellor of Bangladesh University of Professionals was the chief guest of the program and Chair of IEEE Bangladesh Section was the special guest. The seminar was conducted by the Branch Director.
