📘 Workshop on Effective OBE Implementation in Laboratory Courses

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), BUBT successfully organized a workshop titled “Effective OBE Implementation in Laboratory Courses: A Workshop for Teaching Assistants” on 22 September 2026 at the BUBT International Conference Hall (ICH).

The workshop was organized by the PSAC Committee, CSE, with a focus on strengthening the knowledge and practical understanding of Outcome-Based Education (OBE) among Teaching Assistants, particularly in the context of laboratory courses.

The key areas covered included:
🔹 Fundamental concepts and principles of Outcome-Based Education (OBE)
🔹 Relevant BAC and BAETE standards and accreditation requirements
🔹 OBE-based assessment methods and practices for laboratory courses

The session featured Professor Dr. Md. Ahsan Habib, Chairman, Department of CSE, as the Convener, and Dr. Muhammad Aminur Rahaman, Associate Professor & Dean, Faculty of Computer Science & Artificial Intelligence, as the Guest of Honour.
The keynote speakers were Md. Ashiqur Rahman, Sudipto Chaki, and Md. Mamun Hossain, Assistant Professors and members of the PSAC Committee, CSE.

The workshop provided an important platform for Teaching Assistants to enhance their understanding of OBE principles and strengthen their role in implementing effective, outcome-oriented assessment practices in laboratory education.

BASIS Student Forum of BUBT Chapter Club in collaboration with the Department of CSE, BUBT presents the highlights of the Software Development Idea Pitching & Project Showcasing, a platform that bridges the gap between classroom projects and industry-ready solutions.

The event brought together aspiring developers and innovators to showcase their software projects, pitch creative ideas before industry experts, and explore new opportunities in software development. More than 50 teams showcased their projects, with over 200 participants taking part in this day-long event filled with creativity, collaboration, and innovation.

The 5th BUBTDC Inter Department Debate Competition 2026 is knocking at the door! We are looking for enthusiastic and talented students from the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) who are interested in debating and willing to represent the department.

This Expression of Interest Form is intended to collect information from CSE students who are interested in participating in debate. The submitted information will be used to identify interested students and form the team that will represent the CSE Department in the competition.

BUBT's Project TORI wins Innovation Arena at 2nd Bangladesh Science Exposium 2026

A team of students from Bangladesh University of Business and Technology (BUBT) has won the Innovation Arena title in the Scholars category at the 2nd Bangladesh Science Exposium 2026, presented by Transcom.

The team, representing Project TORI, a Semi-Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (sAUV) initiative developed through the BUBT Innovation Hub received the award at a ceremony held at the TSC Auditorium, University of Dhaka, on September 15.

Dr Mohammed Almujaddade Alfasane, Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Administration) of Dhaka University, attended the programme as chief guest, while Dr Mustak Ibn Ayub of the Dhaka University Science Society served as moderator. Special guests included Barrister Shahedul Azam, Secretary General of NDM; Md Shaiful Islam Khan, Director of Bestcade; Syed Shafat Uddin Ahmed Tomal, Managing Director of Market n-Trance Ltd; M A Jamalillah Abir, Executive Director of Bestcade; and Jaysen Roy, President of the Dhaka University Science Society.

The winning team comprised Md Sajidul Islam Samin, Abdur Rahman Sifat, Mosharef Hossain, Fazla Rabbi and Tanvir Ahmed Sifat. The team had earlier showcased Project TORI at the Bangladesh Innovation Fair 2026.

Prof Dr A B M Shawkat Ali, Vice-Chancellor of BUBT, appreciated the team for its contribution and success. The Dean of the Research and Graduate School at BUBT, along with Prof Dr Md Ahsan Habib, Chairman of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) at BUBT, also praised the team's achievement and expressed optimism about its future prospects.
