The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Guru Nanak Institute of Technology organized a one-day workshop titled "Question Paper Framing Using Bloom's Taxonomy" on 11th November 2024. This workshop aimed to equip faculty members with the necessary skills and strategies to design assessments that foster higher-order thinking and align with defined learning outcomes.

Speakers:

Prof. (Dr.) Swarup Kumar Mitra, Principal, GNIT

Prof. (Dr.) Kakali Bandyopadhyay, Dean Academics, GNIT

The workshop was designed as a professional development opportunity for educators, focusing on:

1. Understanding Bloom's Taxonomy and its application in question paper framing.

2. Developing question papers that assess various cognitive levels, from basic knowledge to higher-order critical thinking.

3. Aligning assessments with learning outcomes to ensure comprehensive understanding and skill acquisition.

The event commenced with an inauguration by Dr. Sunipa Roy, who highlighted the importance of structured assessment tools and introduced the theme of Bloom’s Taxonomy as a guide for effective question paper design. Dr. Roy also emphasized the role of IQAC in enhancing educational quality through workshops and training sessions.
