South Asia School of Business and Square Toiletries Ltd Strengthen Academia-Industry Collaboration

A fruitful knowledge-sharing session took place at the office of Square Toiletries Ltd, Gulshan-1, Dhaka, bringing together leaders from the South Asia School of Business, University of South Asia, and Square Toiletries Ltd on October 16, 2024. The meeting centered on potential collaboration designed to elevate the student learning experience and foster industry growth through internships, joint research projects, and knowledge exchange.

Representing the South Asia School of Business were Associate Professor Mohammad Abdullah Al Mamun, Dean, South Asia School of Business and Mr. Md. Karimul Alam, Assistant Professor and Head of the Department of Business Administration. From Square Toiletries Ltd, Mrs. Monami Haque, General Manager of Human Resources, and S M Abdul Karim, Head of Sales & Trade Marketing, shared valuable insights that enriched the discussion.

Both institutions reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening the relationship between academia and industry. Knowledge Sharing Session between South Asia School of Business and Square Food & Beverage Ltd.

A productive knowledge sharing session was held between the South Asia School of Business, University of South Asia, and Square Food & Beverage Ltd on October 16, 2024 at their Banani, Dhaka office. The South Asia School of Business was represented by Associate Professor Mohammad Abdullah Al Mamun, Dean, South Asia School of Business and Mr. Md. "Industry-Academic Collaboration: South Asia School of Business Visited Dekko Legacy Group"

A successful knowledge sharing session took place between the South Asia School of Business, University of South Asia, and Dekko Legacy Group at their corporate office, Shimanto Shambhar, Dhanmondi, Dhaka on October 2, 2024. The primary objectives of this visit were to explore opportunities for industry-academic collaboration.

The South Asia School of Business delegates were Associate Professor Mohammad Abdullah Al Mamun, Dean, South Asia School of Business and Mr. Md. Karimul Alam, Assistant Professor & Head, Department of Business Administration. From Dekko Legacy Group, the following key representatives were present: Mr. AKM Zabed, Chief Operating Officer (COO); Mr. Md. Anwar Hossain, Manager, HR & Administration; and Mr. Syed Abrar Ahmed, General Manager, Sales.

Felicitation Ceremony of the New Executive Committee of South Asia Business Club 2024-2025 Held at University of South Asia

South Asia Business Club of the University of South Asia organized a grand Felicitation Ceremony on Monday, September 23, 2024, at 11:00 am to formally honor and introduce the newly appointed Executive Committee 2024-2025. The event also marked the closing of the previous Executive Committee for 2023-2024.The event took place at the Permanent Campus of the University of South Asia and was a significant gathering of faculty, staff, and students. The ceremony was presided over by Prof. Dr. M. A. Wadud Mondal, Honorable Vice Chancellor, University of South Asia. He emphasized the importance of student-led initiatives in fostering leadership and professional growth.

The event was graced by special guests, including: Mr. Mohammad Kamruzzaman, Registrar; Professor Irshad Ahmed Shaheen, Dean, School of Arts and Culture; Professor Mohammad Mobarak Hossain, Dean, School of Engineering; Associate Professor Mohammad Abdullah Al Mamun,Dean, South Asia School of Business and Chief Advisor, South Asia Business Club; Mr. Johurul Islam Jewel, Deputy Registrar and Head of HR, University of South Asia. In attendance were key faculty members of the South Asia School of Business, including: Mr. Md. Karimul Alam, Assistant Professor & Head, Department of Business Administration and Advisor, South Asia Business Club; Mr. Jayanta Fakir, Assistant Professor and Coordinator, MBA Program; Ms. Rawkatun Nur, Assistant Professor and Head of Communication; and Ms. Rumpa Mittro, Lecturer and Coordinator, BBA Program and Moderator, South Asia Business Club. The heads and faculty members of other departments, along with non-academic staff, also attended the event to show their support for the club's initiatives and to encourage student participation in extracurricular activities. A cultural program was performed by the club members at the end.

“Industry-Academia Collaboration”

Today Faculty Members of University of South Asia (USA), Amin Bazar, Savar, Dhaka-1348 led by Associate Professor M. Abdullah Al Mamun, Dean of South Asia School of Business visited corporate office of T. K. Group, Kawran Bazar, Dhaka. It was a fruitful knowledge sharing session between industry practitioners and academicians and suggested that “Industry-Academia Collaboration” should be prioritized by university as well as industry to produce skilled workforce.

Other faculty members of USA were Engr. Moinul Ahsan, Associate Professor and Head, Department of Textile Engineering and Rumpa Mittro, Lecturer and Coordinator of BBA program. From T. K. Group, Mohammad Mofassel Haque, Director of Marketing, Colonel A. R. Ghani, psc, G (Retd), Director of HR & Admin, Nowsher Ahmed Faruquee, Head of Business, and Khaiyam Khan, Senior Manager, HR & Admin shared their experiences.
