Your father had deposited 'X' money for you in the bank 26 years ago. Now the bank paid you 16'X' for your marriage. This is no difference from your father's planting a tree in the sense that he has not spent time and energy after he deposited the money and planted the tree...
Similarly, you do not plant a 'tree' of pronunciation of a 2nd/foreign language yourself while you have been living in your own country but have it planted by an expert. If you have it done, you will acquire the same result in course of time. And if you do it yourself, according to my experiences you must make strenuous efforts to attend to the 'tree' every day for years...
