২০০৪ সালে এশিয়ান ইউনিভার্সিটি অব বাংলাদেশের অর্থনীতি বিভাগ চালুর কিছুদিন পর থেকেই তিনি এ বিভাগের খণ্ডকালীন শিক্ষক হিসেবে দায়িত্ব পালন করে আসছিলেন। পরবর্তীতে ২০২৫ সালে তিনি বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের রেজিস্ট্রার হিসেবে দায়িত্ব পালন করেন।

এশিয়ান ইউনিভার্সিটি অব বাংলাদেশের (AUB) সাবেক রেজিস্ট্রার ও অর্থনীতি বিভাগের খণ্ডকালীন শিক্ষক এম এ মোতালিব চৌধুরী আর নেই। দীর্ঘদিন অসুস্থ থাকার পর ২২ আগস্ট ২০২৬, শনিবার রাতে তিনি শেষ নিঃশ্বাস ত্যাগ করেন। তাঁর মৃত্যুতে বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের শিক্ষক-শিক্ষার্থী, কর্মকর্তা-কর্মচারী ও শুভাকাঙ্ক্ষীদের মধ্যে শোকের ছায়া নেমে এসেছে।

মরহুম এম এ মোতালিব চৌধুরী ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় থেকে অনার্স ও মাস্টার্স ডিগ্রি অর্জন করেন। ২০০৪ সালে এশিয়ান ইউনিভার্সিটি অব বাংলাদেশের অর্থনীতি বিভাগ চালুর কিছুদিন পর থেকেই তিনি এ বিভাগের খণ্ডকালীন শিক্ষক হিসেবে দায়িত্ব পালন করে আসছিলেন। পরবর্তীতে ২০২৫ সালে তিনি বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের রেজিস্ট্রার হিসেবে দায়িত্ব পালন করেন।

কর্মজীবনে এম এ মোতালিব চৌধুরী ছিলেন অত্যন্ত বিনয়ী, সদালাপী ও মার্জিত স্বভাবের মানুষ। বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের শিক্ষার্থী, শিক্ষক, কর্মকর্তা-কর্মচারীসহ সবার সঙ্গে তিনি আন্তরিকতা ও সৌজন্যের সঙ্গে আচরণ করতেন। তাঁর সুন্দর ব্যবহার ও সহযোগিতাপূর্ণ মনোভাবের কারণে সহকর্মী ও শিক্ষার্থীদের কাছে তিনি ছিলেন একজন শ্রদ্ধাভাজন ব্যক্তি।

দীর্ঘদিন ধরে অসুস্থ থাকার পর শেষ পর্যন্ত শনিবার রাতে তাঁর মৃত্যু হয়। তাঁর মৃত্যুতে এশিয়ান ইউনিভার্সিটি অব বাংলাদেশ পরিবার একজন অভিজ্ঞ ও সদালাপী ব্যক্তিকে হারাল।

আজ জানাজা

মরহুম এম এ মোতালিব চৌধুরীর জানাজার নামাজ ২৩ আগস্ট ২০২৬, রবিবার, যোহরের নামাজের পর তাঁর নিজ বাড়ি গাজীপুরের সালনায় অনুষ্ঠিত হবে।

তাঁর মৃত্যুতে গভীর শোক ও সমবেদনা জানিয়েছেন তাঁর পরিবার, সহকর্মী, শিক্ষার্থী ও শুভাকাঙ্ক্ষীরা। সবাই মরহুমের আত্মার মাগফিরাত কামনা করেছেন।

মহান আল্লাহ তাআলা মরহুমের সকল ভুল-ত্রুটি ক্ষমা করে তাঁকে জান্নাতুল ফেরদৌস নসিব করুন এবং তাঁর শোকসন্তপ্ত পরিবারকে ধৈর্য ধারণের তাওফিক দান করুন।

On the occasion of July Mass Uprising Day, the Department of Economics, Asian University of Bangladesh (AUB) pays heartfelt tribute to the courage, sacrifice, and resilience of all those who stood for justice, democracy, and the rights of the people.

অত্যন্ত আনন্দ ও গর্বের সঙ্গে জানানো যাচ্ছে যে, United International University Theatre & Film Club আয়োজিত Spotlight 2.0 প্রতিযোগিতায় Asian University of Bangladesh (AUB)-এর শিক্ষার্থীরা অসাধারণ সাফল্য অর্জন করেছে।

প্রতিযোগিতার Short Film ক্যাটাগরিতে “Hiraeth” শিরোনামের স্বল্পদৈর্ঘ্য চলচ্চিত্রটি প্রথম স্থান অর্জন করেছে। দেশের বিভিন্ন বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের অংশগ্রহণে আয়োজিত এই প্রতিযোগিতায় এ সাফল্য এশিয়ান ইউনিভার্সিটি অব বাংলাদেশের জন্য এক গর্বের মাইলফলক।

Inspiring Outreach for HSC Examinees

On behalf of Asian University of Bangladesh, gift items were distributed among approximately 900 HSC examinees of Savar Model College as a gesture of encouragement and support for their upcoming examinations.

As a token of appreciation for their invaluable contribution to education, gift items were also presented to the respected teachers of the institution.

Clean Kuakata 2026 🌊
On the occasion of World Environment Day (June 5), Switch Bangladesh Foundation organized Clean Kuakata 2026, a remarkable initiative dedicated to environmental conservation and awareness. The event brought together students, volunteers, and organizations with a shared commitment to keeping Kuakata clean and protecting its natural beauty.

Students from Asian University of Bangladesh, North South University, University of Dhaka, Jahangirnagar University, Sonargaon University, along with several other universities across the country, actively participated in this meaningful initiative. In addition, around 500 volunteers from local schools and colleges joined the cleaning campaign, demonstrating their dedication to environmental responsibility and community service.

Representing the Social Service Club of Asian University of Bangladesh, Muminul Hossain Dihan from the Department of Economics actively participated in Clean Kuakata 2026, contributing to the collective effort to promote environmental awareness and sustainability.

Asian University of Bangladesh proudly supported the event as a Co-Sponsor. The initiative was further strengthened by the support of major sponsors, including Yamaha Motor Company, upay, SUN, and many other organizations that contributed to the success of this impactful program.
