NSU Pharmacy Students Prepare for International Pharmacy Immersion Programme (IPIP) 2026 at UniKL RCMP, Malaysia
North South University is delighted to share that a group of students is preparing to participate in the International Pharmacy Immersion Programme (IPIP) 2026, hosted by the Faculty of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, Universiti Kuala Lumpur Royal College of Medicine Perak (UniKL RCMP), Malaysia.
Ahead of their international academic journey, the participating students met with Prof. Abdul Hannan Chowdhury, Vice-Chancellor of North South University, along with representatives from the university. The meeting provided an opportunity to encourage the students as they prepare to represent NSU in an international academic environment and make the most of this valuable learning experience.
Scheduled to take place from 13–27 September 2026 in Ipoh, Perak, Malaysia, the 15-day immersion programme is designed to extend learning beyond the traditional classroom and provide participants with exposure to pharmacy education, professional practice, healthcare systems, industry, community engagement, and Malaysian culture.
A key strength of IPIP 2026 is its emphasis on experiential and practice-oriented learning. Participants will gain exposure to Malaysia's healthcare and pharmacy governance environment, take part in a formulation workshop, and experience professional settings through educational and industry visits.
The programme will also provide valuable community pharmacy and public health exposure, offering students an opportunity to better understand how pharmaceutical knowledge is applied in real-world healthcare settings.
Beyond its academic and professional dimensions, the immersion programme places strong emphasis on cross-cultural understanding and global citizenship. Through educational and heritage experiences, a CSR programme, and dedicated activities focusing on language, culture, and health communication, students will have opportunities to engage with Malaysia's diverse social and cultural environment while developing their interpersonal and intercultural competencies.
International immersion experiences such as IPIP play an important role in preparing future healthcare professionals for an increasingly interconnected world. They enable students to observe different healthcare environments, broaden their professional perspectives, strengthen communication and adaptability, and build meaningful connections beyond national borders.
