7 April 2026 | World Health Day

On the occasion of World Health Day 2026, a special seminar was jointly organized by Gonoshasthaya Kendra and Gono University, centered on the theme “Stand together for health, stand by science.” The seminar featured important discussions on the interconnection between health, science, and society, highlighting future directions for the country’s healthcare system.
At the seminar, the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology of Gono University presented two poster presentations titled “Rising Measles in Bangladesh: A Wake-Up Call for the Public Health System” and “Planning for Wellness: Healthy Diets, Complementary Nutrition, and Disease Management.” The team was represented by Abdul Matin Pavel, Ashik Hasan, Nahid Hasan, and Masum Billah Tuhin. Additional contributions were made by Mahid Hasan, Moinul Islam, and Minhajul Islam as part of the team effort.
The chief guest of the program was Dr. Dewan Md. Salauddin, Honorable Member of Parliament (Dhaka-19). The session was chaired by Professor Dr. Md. Abul Hossain, Vice-Chancellor of Gono University.
The keynote papers were presented by Professor Dr. Md. Mahmudul Hasan Sikdar (Bangladesh Agricultural University) and Professor Farida Yasmin, Head of the Department of Pharmacology and Therapeutics, Gonoshasthaya Samajbhittik Medical College.
