A remarkable success story from Bangladesh is inspiring aspiring engineers across the country. Md. Mostafizur Rahman, a graduate of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, City University, Bangladesh, has achieved an outstanding international career milestone, demonstrating that determination, excellence, and professional competence can overcome every barrier.
Graduating from the 6th Batch (Section B), Mostafizur Rahman earned the highest CGPA in his section, securing 1st position during his academic journey. His exceptional academic performance, discipline, and commitment to excellence made him a role model among his peers.
He began his professional career in 2018 with Karnaphuli Shipyard Limited, where he worked with distinction until 2022. He later joined Khulna Shipyard Limited, operated by the Bangladesh Navy, as a Project Officer, successfully leading engineering projects with professionalism, integrity, and technical excellence until April 2026.
After nearly eight years of distinguished experience in Bangladesh's shipbuilding industry, he stepped onto the international stage. Since May 2026, he has been serving as an Assistant Manager at the shipyard of a reputed group of companies in the Maldives, where he now oversees and manages the overall operations of the entire shipyard. His appointment reflects his exceptional leadership, engineering expertise, and managerial capabilities.
His journey is a powerful example that graduates from Bangladesh's private universities can compete and excel on the global stage. Through dedication, continuous learning, and professional excellence, Md. Mostafizur Rahman has become a proud ambassador of Bangladeshi engineering, bringing international recognition to both City University and the nation.
