The Department of Civil Engineering at North Western University (NWU), Khulna, in association with the IQAC, organized a technical seminar and viva session conducted by LafargeHolcim Bangladesh PLC on August 24, 2026.

The session featured an insightful presentation by the keynote speaker, Fakhruddin Mohammad Khan, Head of Innovation & Technical Services at LafargeHolcim Bangladesh PLC, who shared valuable perspectives on sustainable engineering, advanced cement solutions, and durable construction practices.

The event was graced by the Registrar, Dean, respected Head of the Civil Engineering Department, and esteemed faculty members of the university. Following the presentation, a dedicated viva session took place for the shortlisted students, offering them direct career engagement and industry evaluation. The program wrapped up with the handover of an honorary crest to the guest speaker and the distribution of certificates to the participating students.

North Western University expresses profound sorrow at the passing of Ruhul Quddus Gazi, respected father of Md. Farhad Hossain, Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE), North Western University.

He passed away on 23 August 2026 at approximately 5:30 AM at his residence at the age of 71. He had been suffering from cancer for a long time and had received treatment at Chittaranjan National Cancer Institute, India.

Inna Lillahi Wa Inna Ilaihi Raji'un.
