High-Level PCB Inspection Visit Held at Varendra University......
On 7 January 2026, a high-level inspection team from the Pharmacy Council of Bangladesh (PCB) conducted an official inspection visit to the Department of Pharmacy, Varendra University, as part of the regulatory, academic, and infrastructural evaluation process.
The inspection team comprised Dr. Md. Abdur Rashid, Member, Accreditation & Education Committee, PCB, and Professor, Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry, University of Dhaka; Professor Dr. Jakir Ahmed Chowdhury, Member, Accreditation & Education Committee, PCB, and Chairman, Department of Pharmacy, University of Dhaka; Professor Dr. Md. Selim Reza, Member (Expert Representative), PCB, and Dean, Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Dhaka; Dr. Md. Aslam Hossain, Member (Expert Representative), PCB, and Professor, Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry, University of Dhaka; and Mr. Muhammad Mahbubul Haque, Secretary, PCB.
The distinguished delegation was formally received by the Registrar of Varendra University, Lt. Colonel Muhammad Bin Yusuf (Retd.), along with the Head of the Department of Pharmacy, Professor Dr. Md. Bytul Mokaddesur Rahman, and all faculty members of the Department.
In the presence of the Treasurer of Varendra University, Professor Dr. Md. Faizar Rahman, the PCB inspection team conducted a comprehensive review of the academic, administrative, and infrastructural activities of the Department of Pharmacy. The team assessed compliance with PCB requirements, examined relevant academic and regulatory documents, and thoroughly inspected the departmental classrooms and laboratory facilities.
Subsequently, the inspection team held a courtesy and review meeting with the Vice-Chancellor of Varendra University, Professor Dr. Md. Khademul Islam Molla. During the meeting, the honorable members of the team shared their valuable observations and strategic guidance aimed at further strengthening academic standards and enhancing the overall quality of the Department of Pharmacy. The inspection team also expressed the opinion that, with continued academic and administrative support, the Department of Pharmacy has strong potential to rapidly emerge as a prominent academic hub in the northern region of Bangladesh.
In response, the Vice-Chancellor of Varendra University expressed his sincere gratitude to the PCB inspection team for their valuable time, cooperation, and insightful comments. He acknowledged that the inspectors’ observations would play a significant role in enriching the department’s vision and achieving its long-term academic goals.
