​Today, the Department of Law successfully hosted the "Law Fresher's Orientation Programme" to warmly welcome the students of Batch 48 to our academic family.
​The event was smoothly conducted by the Coordinator of the Department, Mr. Al Amin.

​We were honored by the presence of our Chief Guest, Professor Abu Zayed Mohammad, Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, who delivered an inspiring speech providing valuable guidelines and sharing the immense prospects within the legal profession.

As another remarkable journey comes to a close, the Department of Law, City University officially concludes the Spring 2026 semester today.
Looking back, it has been a term defined by academic excellence, vibrant energy, and true student camaraderie. Throughout these months, our campus buzzed with activity as our students actively engaged in diverse academic pursuits, competitive events, and rich cultural experiences, making this semester truly unforgettable.

​Here are the major highlights that made Spring 2026 so memorable:
​Iftar Party: Starting during the Holy Ramadan with a warm departmental gathering.
​Court Visit: A crucial part of our practical academics.
​Sports & Debates: Energetic involvement both outdoors and indoors, featuring the Intra-Department Cricket Tournament and the Intra-Department Debating Competition.

​Theory met practice at the City University Mooting Hall! The Department of Law successfully organized a Mock Trial for our brilliant 39th outgoing batch as part of their hands-on academic training. We were deeply honored to have our respected Vice Chancellor, Brig Gen Prof. Dr. Engr. Md. Lutfor Rahman (Retd.), alongside the Faculty Deans and the Exam Controller in attendance to witness the students showcase their courtroom advocacy skills.

​The session was beautifully conducted by Shahirar Kabir sir (District and Sessions Judge, Nari-O-Shishu Nirjatan Daman Tribunal, Dhaka & Adjunct Faculty) who brought invaluable real-world judicial experience to the bench.

​A special note of gratitude goes to our respected Dean of the Arts & Social Science Faculty, Professor Abu Zayed Mohammad sir, whose meticulous supervision, invaluable guidance, and constant encouragement ensured the grand success of the entire program.

The event featured a brilliant array of performances, ranging from graceful classical solo dances and dynamic group fusions to soul-stirring folk music and acoustic guitar sessions that left the audience spellbound.

Guided smoothly by our eloquent student emcees, the program beautifully demonstrated that our aspiring legal minds are not only dedicated to their academics but also deeply rooted in cultural expression and artistic excellence. The Department of Law at City University successfully hosted the grand finale of its intra-departmental Debate Competition showcasing exceptional public speaking, sharp analytical skills, and brilliant legal argumentation from the talented students.
Following a series of intellectually stimulating rounds, the ceremony concluded with an official prize distribution to honor the outstanding performances of the champions ,runners-up and best performers of the tournament.
The prestigious awards were graciously given away by the Honorable Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Social Science Prof. Abu Zayed Mohammad sir and the Head of the Department, Md. ​The solemn ceremony was graced by the presence of our esteemed Vice Chancellor, Brig. Gen. Prof. Dr. Engr. Md. Lutfor Rahman (Retd.), alongside the Controller of Examinations and the Dean of the Faculty of Business Administration.

The Department of Law officially inaugurated its Intradepartmental Cricket Tournament today. The opening ceremony was distinguished by the presence of the Honorable Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, Professor Abu Zayed Mohammad sir, and the Head of the Department, Mohammad Zakariya sir.
