Department of Tourism and Hospitality Management, Leading University Only pioneer department for providing tourism and hospitality education in the north-eastern region. It is one of the emerging schools in the country.

The Department of Tourism and Hospitality Management (THM), Leading University, is the only pioneer department for providing tourism and hospitality education in the north-eastern region of Bangladesh. The department started its functioning from January 01, 2017 under the faculty of Business Administration. The department presently offers ‘Bachelor of Tourism and Hospitality Management’ (BTHM) pro

gram, and the program is designed as per the uniform curriculum policies for the private universities in Bangladesh in accordance with the guidance of the University Grants Commission (UGC), Bangladesh National Qualification Frameworks (BNQF) and Bangladesh Accreditation Council (BEC). The department of tourism and hospitality management is currently under faculty of business administration, equipped with 08 (eight) full time faculty members along with adjunct faculty members, who are immensely eligible, relentlessly hard working and committed, as the department never compromises with excellence. Keeping in view with the ongoing learning methodology, the department offers diverse and modernized bachelor degree course which completes with in-depth theoretical and practical orientation.

লিডিং ইউনিভার্সিটি টুরিস্ট ক্লাব আয়োজিত পর্যটন ও আতিথেয়তা বিষয়ক ম্যাগাজিন “Travel Jazz Volume–3”–এর আনুষ্ঠানিক উন্মোচন এক বর্ণাঢ্য আয়োজনে অনুষ্ঠিত হয়েছে।

অনুষ্ঠানে প্রধান অতিথি হিসেবে উপস্থিত ছিলেন লিডিং ইউনিভার্সিটির প্রতিষ্ঠাতা ও ট্রাস্টি বোর্ডের চেয়ারম্যান, দানবীর ড. সৈয়দ রাগীব আলী স্যার। তিনি ম্যাগাজিনটির মোড়ক উন্মোচন করেন এবং শিক্ষার্থীদের উদ্যোগ ও সৃজনশীলতার প্রশংসা করে বলেন,

“পর্যটন শিল্প একটি দেশের অর্থনীতির গুরুত্বপূর্ণ অংশ। এই খাতের উন্নয়নে তরুণ প্রজন্মকে গবেষণামূলক চিন্তাভাবনায় এগিয়ে আসতে হবে। ‘Travel Jazz’–এর মতো প্রকাশনা শিক্ষার্থীদের সৃজনশীলতা এবং একাডেমিক দক্ষতার দারুণ প্রতিফলন।”

অনুষ্ঠানে সভাপতিত্ব করেন লিডিং ইউনিভার্সিটির মাননীয় উপাচার্য প্রফেসর ড. মোহাম্মদ তাজ উদ্দিন স্যার।
বিশেষ অতিথি হিসেবে উপস্থিত ছিলেন ব্যবসায় প্রশাসন অনুষদের ডিন প্রফেসর ড. বশির আহমেদ ভূঁইয়া স্যার।
কী-নোট বক্তা হিসেবে বক্তব্য রাখেন শাহজালাল বিজ্ঞান ও প্রযুক্তি বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের প্রফেসর ড. মোহাম্মদ আব্দুল হামিদ স্যার।

এছাড়াও উপস্থিত ছিলেন রাঙামাটি বিজ্ঞান ও প্রযুক্তি বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের প্রভাষক মো. আব্দুল হালিম স্যার, পাবলিক হেলথ বিভাগের বিভাগীয় প্রধান ডা. মোহাম্মদ আব্দুল মজিদ মিয়া স্যার, টুরিজম অ্যান্ড হসপিটালিটি ম্যানেজমেন্ট বিভাগের বিভাগীয় প্রধান ও প্রক্টর মো. মাহবুবুর রহমান স্যার, ক্লাবের উপদেষ্টা মো. সাজেদুল ইসলাম সরকার স্যার, এবং ট্যুরিজম এম্বাসেডর ও বাংলাদেশের ৬ষ্ঠ এভারেস্ট বিজয়ী ডা. বাবর আলী স্যার।

অনুষ্ঠানে আরও উপস্থিত ছিলেন টুরিজম অ্যান্ড হসপিটালিটি ম্যানেজমেন্ট বিভাগের সম্মানিত শিক্ষকবৃন্দ—
সহকারী অধ্যাপক আশরাফুল ইসলাম চৌধুরী স্যার, সহকারী অধ্যাপক মিসেস জহুরা জামিন জোহা ম্যাম, লেকচারার ইহিত শর্মা স্যার, লেকচারার এম. আহসান হাবিব অর্ণব স্যার, লেকচারার সাদিয়া শারমিন ম্যাম, এবং গেষ্ট লেকচারার সাব্বির আহমেদ স্যার।

ম্যাগাজিন উন্মোচনের পর অতিথিবৃন্দ “Travel Jazz”–এর প্রতিটি পৃষ্ঠা পর্যালোচনা করেন এবং শিক্ষার্থীদের গবেষণা, লেখনী ও সৃজনশীল চিন্তার উচ্চমানের প্রশংসা করেন। তাঁরা বলেন,

“এই প্রকাশনা টুরিজম ও আতিথেয়তা শিক্ষার অগ্রযাত্রায় একটি গুরুত্বপূর্ণ সংযোজন হয়ে থাকবে, যা ভবিষ্যতে আরও নতুন দিগন্ত উন্মোচন করবে।”

অনুষ্ঠানটির সঞ্চালনা করেন টুরিজম অ্যান্ড হসপিটালিটি ম্যানেজমেন্ট বিভাগের সহকারী অধ্যাপক মিসেস জহুরা জামিন জোহা ম্যাম।
