NEUB in Sylhet: The Government has given approval to North East University Bangladesh in Sylhet. Sylhet is known for its natural beauty and resources. Sylhet has embraced the qualities of the north viz the culture and technologies of the developed nations, and blended successfully with the oriental rich cultural traditions. Mission of NEUB: North East University Bangladesh is pledge bound to provide quality education at the tertiary level, so that its graduates can be the worthy citizens of the global village and survive in the competitions nationally and internationally. Goal of NEUB: North East University Bangladesh graduates are expected to be able to contribute to nation building activities as a productive force to enhance productivity.

সেমিনার: অগ্নি নিরাপত্তা বিষয়ক সচেতনতা বৃদ্ধি

আজ ২৩ এপ্রিল ২০২৬, নর্থ ইস্ট ইউনিভার্সিটি বাংলাদেশ (NEUB)-এর ইনস্টিটিউশনাল কোয়ালিটি অ্যাসুরেন্স সেল (IQAC)-এর উদ্যোগে “Creating Awareness for Fire Safety” শীর্ষক একটি গুরুত্বপূর্ণ সেমিনার বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের অডিটোরিয়ামে অনুষ্ঠিত হয়।

সেমিনারে প্রধান আলোচক হিসেবে উপস্থিত ছিলেন এনইউবির মাননীয় উপাচার্য প্রফেসর ড. ইঞ্জিনিয়ার মোহাম্মদ ইকবাল এবং সিলেট ফায়ার সার্ভিস ও সিভিল ডিফেন্স স্টেশনের সিনিয়র স্টেশন অফিসার জনাব মুহাম্মদ কুতুব উদ্দিন।

উপাচার্য প্রফেসর ড. ইঞ্জিনিয়ার মোহাম্মদ ইকবাল তাঁর বক্তব্যে অগ্নি নিরাপত্তাকে টেকসই উন্নয়নের অবিচ্ছেদ্য অংশ হিসেবে তুলে ধরেন। তিনি রানা প্লাজা ট্র্যাজেডি, বিএসইসি ভবন এবং বসুন্ধরা সিটি কমপ্লেক্সে সংঘটিত অগ্নিকাণ্ডের উদাহরণ দিয়ে ভবন নির্মাণে নিরাপত্তা বিধিমালা কঠোরভাবে অনুসরণের গুরুত্ব ব্যাখ্যা করেন। তিনি উল্লেখ করেন, আইএলও (ILO)-এর সহযোগিতায় গার্মেন্টস খাতসহ বিভিন্ন ক্ষেত্রে অগ্নি নিরাপত্তা ব্যবস্থার উন্নতি হলেও ব্যক্তিগত ও প্রাতিষ্ঠানিক পর্যায়ে সচেতনতা এখনও অপরিহার্য। পাশাপাশি তিনি অগ্নিকাণ্ডে হতাহতের লিঙ্গভিত্তিক পরিসংখ্যান তুলে ধরে ভবন পরিকল্পনায় সঠিক ভেন্টিলেশন, মানসম্মত বৈদ্যুতিক সরঞ্জাম এবং গ্যাস লাইনের নিয়মিত রক্ষণাবেক্ষণের ওপর গুরুত্বারোপ করেন। তিনি জোর দিয়ে বলেন, কেবল বিধিমালা অনুসরণই যথেষ্ট নয়; বরং প্রত্যেকের দায়িত্বশীলতা ও সচেতনতাই জীবন ও সম্পদের সুরক্ষা নিশ্চিত করতে পারে।

সিনিয়র স্টেশন অফিসার জনাব মুহাম্মদ কুতুব উদ্দিন তাঁর আলোচনায় অগ্নিকাণ্ডের কারণ, ঝুঁকি মূল্যায়ন এবং নির্বাপণ কৌশল নিয়ে বিস্তারিত আলোকপাত করেন। তিনি সচিত্র উপস্থাপনার মাধ্যমে দেখান যে রান্নাঘরে অসতর্কতা, যত্রতত্র বিড়ি-সিগারেট ফেলা বা কয়েল জ্বালানো এবং ত্রুটিপূর্ণ বৈদ্যুতিক সংযোগ—এসব ছোট অবহেলাই বড় অগ্নিকাণ্ডের প্রধান কারণ। তিনি ভবনের ঝুঁকিপূর্ণ স্থান (যেমন জেনারেটর বা ট্রান্সফর্মার রুম) এবং সম্ভাব্য প্রজ্বলন উৎস (যেমন গ্যাস সিলিন্ডার বা হিটার) সঠিকভাবে শনাক্ত করার ওপর গুরুত্ব দেন। এছাড়াও তিনি আগুনের ধরন (Class A, B, C) অনুযায়ী পানি, ফোম ও কার্বন ডাই-অক্সাইড ব্যবহারের পদ্ধতি ব্যাখ্যা করেন এবং বলেন, অগ্নিনির্বাপক যন্ত্রের সঠিক ব্যবহার ও তাৎক্ষণিক প্রতিক্রিয়াই বড় ক্ষতি প্রতিরোধে কার্যকর ভূমিকা রাখে।

অনুষ্ঠানে আরও উপস্থিত ছিলেন আইকিউএসি (IQAC)-এর পরিচালক প্রফেসর ড. রঞ্জিত কুমার দে। সেমিনারটি পরিচালনা করেন আইকিউএসি-এর অতিরিক্ত পরিচালক রথীন্দ্র চন্দ্র গোপ।

সেমিনারে বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের বিভিন্ন অনুষদের ডিনবৃন্দ, বিভাগীয় প্রধানগণ, রেজিস্ট্রার, পরীক্ষা নিয়ন্ত্রক, অর্থ পরিচালক, লাইব্রেরিয়ানসহ সকল শিক্ষক, কর্মকর্তা ও কর্মচারীবৃন্দ স্বতঃস্ফূর্তভাবে অংশগ্রহণ করেন। অগ্নি দুর্ঘটনা প্রতিরোধ এবং জরুরি পরিস্থিতিতে জীবন ও সম্পদ রক্ষার কার্যকর কৌশল বিষয়ে এ সেমিনারে বিস্তারিত দিকনির্দেশনা প্রদান করা হয়।

বাংলা নববর্ষ ১৪৩৩ উদযাপন উপলক্ষে নর্থ ইস্ট ইউনিভার্সিটি বাংলাদেশে এক আনন্দঘন ও উৎসবমুখর পরিবেশে পহেলা বৈশাখের শুভেচ্ছা বিনিময় ও আলোচনা সভা অনুষ্ঠিত হয়।

অনুষ্ঠানে বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের মাননীয় উপাচার্য, বিভিন্ন অনুষদের ডিনবৃন্দ, বিভাগীয় প্রধানগণ, শিক্ষকমণ্ডলী, অফিস প্রধানবৃন্দ এবং কর্মকর্তা-কর্মচারীবৃন্দ অংশগ্রহণ করেন। এসময় সবাই একে অপরের সঙ্গে বাংলা নববর্ষের শুভেচ্ছা বিনিময় করেন এবং বাঙালির ঐতিহ্য, সংস্কৃতি ও সম্প্রীতির চেতনায় নতুন বছরকে বরণ করে নেন।

অনুষ্ঠানে পহেলা বৈশাখ ও এর ঐতিহ্যবাহী তাৎপর্য নিয়ে একটি প্রাণবন্ত আলোচনা অনুষ্ঠিত হয়। আলোচনায় বাংলা নববর্ষের ইতিহাস, গ্রামবাংলার ঐতিহ্য, লোকসংস্কৃতি, উৎসবমুখর জীবনধারা এবং আমাদের সমৃদ্ধ সাংস্কৃতিক উত্তরাধিকার নিয়ে গুরুত্বারোপ করা হয়।

এসময় মাননীয় উপাচার্য তাঁর বক্তব্যে বলেন, পহেলা বৈশাখ বাঙালির প্রাণের উৎসব। তিনি গ্রামবাংলার সংস্কৃতি, ঐতিহ্য ও শেকড়ের সঙ্গে নতুন প্রজন্মকে পরিচিত করে তোলার ওপর গুরুত্বারোপ করেন। তিনি আরও বলেন, এ ধরনের ঐতিহ্যবাহী আয়োজন নিয়মিতভাবে উদযাপন করা প্রয়োজন, যাতে আমাদের আগামী প্রজন্ম বাংলা সংস্কৃতি, কৃষ্টি ও ঐতিহ্য সম্পর্কে যথাযথভাবে জানতে পারে এবং ভবিষ্যতে তা গর্বের সঙ্গে বহন করে নিয়ে যেতে পারে।

তিনি উল্লেখ করেন, এ ধরনের আয়োজন শুধু উৎসব উদযাপনই নয়, বরং আমাদের সাংস্কৃতিক ঐতিহ্য ও জাতীয় পরিচয়কে নতুন প্রজন্মের মাঝে সঞ্চারিত করার একটি গুরুত্বপূর্ণ মাধ্যম।

এ ধরনের আয়োজন বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় পরিবারে সৌহার্দ্য, সম্প্রীতি ও পারস্পরিক বন্ধনকে আরও সুদৃঢ় করে এবং আমাদের নিজস্ব সংস্কৃতি ও ঐতিহ্যের প্রতি শ্রদ্ধাবোধ জাগ্রত করে।

A meeting of the "NEUB Research Fund Utilization Committee" was held today at 2:00 PM in the conference room. The meeting was presided over by the Honorable Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Mohammad Iqbal, and was attended by all Deans and the Finance Director.

During the session, the Vice Chancellor emphasized the importance of active research engagement by both faculty members and students. He assured that the university authority remains committed to supporting enthusiastic and promising research initiatives, particularly those addressing contemporary and impactful areas. Members were encouraged to pursue innovative research and contribute meaningfully to society.

The committee approved the budget for supporting research projects for the 2025–26 session. The NEUB authority continues its commitment to fostering a strong research culture and inspiring potential researchers of the institution.

The Department of Law and Justice, North East University Bangladesh, is delighted to announce that Assistant Professor Dr. Jakir Hossan has successfully completed his PhD from Yunnan University of Nationalities, China, under the prestigious Chinese Government Scholarship awarded by the China Scholarship Council.

The Department warmly welcomes Dr. Jakir Hossan on his rejoining the Department of Law and Justice. His distinguished academic accomplishment and valuable international research experience are expected to make a meaningful contribution to the Department’s academic excellence and scholarly environment.

On this special occasion, the Honourable Vice-Chancellor of North East University Bangladesh, Professor Dr. Engineer Mohammad Iqbal, was present and extended his sincere appreciation and best wishes. Also present were Md. Mahamudun Noby Rupok, Lecturer and Acting Head of the Department of Law and Justice, along with esteemed faculty members Ahmod Husain Akkas, Md. Moqbul Hosain Noman, Md. Mahdi Hassan Fagun, and Aishwariya Das.

আইকিউএসি (IQAC), নর্থ ইস্ট ইউনিভার্সিটি বাংলাদেশের উদ্যোগে আয়োজিত সেমিনারে অংশগ্রহণকারী প্রশাসনিক কর্মকর্তাদের মাঝে আজ বুধবার (৮ এপ্রিল) সার্টিফিকেট প্রদান করা হয়েছে।

অনুষ্ঠানে প্রধান অতিথি হিসেবে উপস্থিত ছিলেন বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের মাননীয় ভাইস চ্যান্সেলর প্রফেসর ইঞ্জিনিয়ার ড. মোহাম্মদ ইকবাল। বক্তব্যে তিনি বলেন, “বৈশ্বিক প্রেক্ষাপটে টিকে থাকতে এবং নিজেদের জ্ঞান আরও সমৃদ্ধ করতে ধারাবাহিক শেখা ও দক্ষতা উন্নয়নের কোনো বিকল্প নেই।”

The seminar was held at Ashrai Center, pakuria, paba, Rajshahi on 3–4 April, 2026. This program was jointly organized by University of Rajshahi, Institute of Social Research and Applied Anthropology (ISRAA), The Institute of Applied Anthropology (IAA).

The research reflects a deep understanding of socio-economic and cultural factors influencing self-medication behaviors in rural communities. Her paper will contribute significantly to the academic discussion on public health and medication practices in Bangladesh.

North East University Bangladesh (NEUB) successfully organized a seminar titled “Training for Academic Excellence” on April 7, 2026, at the NEUB Auditorium, arranged by the Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC).

The program was graciously honored by the presence of Chief Guest, Honorable Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Engr. Mohammad Iqbal, who also contributed as a distinguished resource person. In his comprehensive and thought-provoking session, he addressed the topic “Responsibilities as Private University Faculty Members,” where he emphasized the vital role of educators in upholding academic integrity, fostering student-centered learning, and contributing to institutional excellence.

He further delivered an insightful keynote on Outcome-Based Education (OBE), highlighting its significance in modern higher education. He elaborated on the need for aligning curriculum, teaching methodologies, and assessment strategies with clearly defined learning outcomes to ensure quality education and continuous improvement. His speech strongly underscored the importance of accountability, innovation, and commitment among faculty members to enhance teaching effectiveness and produce competent graduates.

The session was chaired by Professor Dr. Ranjit Kumar Dey, who also contributed as a resource person. He presented on “Quality Academic Performance,” highlighting strategies to enhance academic standards and institutional excellenceon

At the end, certificates were given among the newly appointed faculty members of NEUB.

The seminar was facilitated by Mr. Rathindra Chandra Gope, Additional Director IQAC.

The event reflected NEUB’s strong commitment to fostering academic quality and continuous professional development among faculty members.

অনুষ্ঠানে সভাপতিত্ব করেন ম্যাগাজিন কমিটির আহ্বায়ক অধ্যাপক মো. হারুনুর রশীদ। ম্যাগাজিন কমিটির সদস্য সচিব ও পরিচালক (অর্থ) অশোক রঞ্জন চৌধুরী-এর সঞ্চালনায় অনুষ্ঠিত সভায় বক্তব্য রাখেন বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের স্কুল অব সায়েন্স-এর ডিন ও এমপিএইচ বিভাগের বিভাগীয় প্রধান প্রফেসর ডা. রঞ্জিত কুমার দে, স্কুল অব ইঞ্জিনিয়ারিং অ্যান্ড টেকনোলজি-এর ডিন ও সিএসই বিভাগের বিভাগীয় প্রধান ড. আরিফ আহমদ, স্কুল অব বিজনেস-এর ডিন ও ব্যবসায় প্রশাসন বিভাগের বিভাগীয় প্রধান রেবেকা সুলতানা চৌধুরী, স্কুল অব হিউম্যানিটিজ অ্যান্ড সোশ্যাল সায়েন্স-এর ডিন ও ইংরেজি বিভাগের বিভাগীয় প্রধান মোহাম্মদ শামসুল কবির, এনইইউবি বোর্ড অব ট্রাস্টিজ-এর সেক্রেটারি ও পরীক্ষা নিয়ন্ত্রক মো. লিয়াকত আলী শাহ ফরিদী, ভারপ্রাপ্ত রেজিস্ট্রার নূরজাহান কাকলী, ছাত্রকল্যাণ উপদেষ্টা ও সিএসই বিভাগের সহযোগী অধ্যাপক রথীন্দ্র চন্দ্র গোপ, আইন ও বিচার বিভাগের ভারপ্রাপ্ত বিভাগীয় প্রধান মাহমুদ উন নবী রূপক, ডেভেলপমেন্ট স্টাডিজ বিভাগের ভারপ্রাপ্ত বিভাগীয় প্রধান মোছা. সুইটি খাতুন, সিনিয়র সহকারী পরীক্ষা নিয়ন্ত্রক সঞ্জয় নন্দী এবং অ্যাকাউন্টস অফিসার মো. আসলাম খান প্রমুখ।

প্রধান অতিথির বক্তব্যে উপাচার্য প্রফেসর ড. ইঞ্জিনিয়ার মোহাম্মদ ইকবাল বলেন, “সাহিত্য মানবজীবনের প্রতিচ্ছবি, যা সমাজ-সংস্কৃতির বিকাশে ইতিবাচক পরিবর্তন আনে।” তিনি বলেন, একটি বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের শিক্ষক, শিক্ষার্থী ও কর্মকর্তাদের লেখা নিয়ে সংকলন প্রকাশ একটি গুরুত্বপূর্ণ কাজ। এর মাধ্যমে নতুন লেখকদের লেখা প্রকাশের সুযোগ সৃষ্টি হয় এবং সাহিত্যজগতে নতুন ধারা তৈরি হয়, যা মনন বিকাশে সহায়ক ভূমিকা রাখে।

তিনি আরও বলেন, শ্রেণিকক্ষে পাঠদানের পাশাপাশি শিক্ষার্থীদের চিন্তার ব্যাপ্তি ও জ্ঞান বিকাশে এ ধরনের প্রকাশনা গুরুত্বপূর্ণ অবদান রাখবে। শিক্ষার গুণগত মান উন্নয়নে আমরা বিশ্বাসী, কেননা আমাদের বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের স্লোগানই হচ্ছে— ‘Education with Innovation’।

শিক্ষার্থীদের সৃজনশীল কার্যক্রমকে আমরা উৎসাহিত করি এবং এ ধারা ভবিষ্যতেও অব্যাহত থাকবে।
