We are delighted to share the remarkable success of our students at the World Habitat Day Idea Competition, organized by the Sylhet Development Authority (SDA).

Leading University secured 1st Position and Joint 2nd Position in the competition, bringing great pride to our Department and University.

The university hosted its central orientation at the Building campus, followed by a departmental orientation session held at the Department of Architecture. We extend our warmest wishes to the aspiring architects of the future, whose presence, energy, and creative contributions will surely elevate our academic environment. Welcome aboard!

ATELIER FOR AN ARCHITECT|Design Studio III

Over the course of the studio, the project evolved through a process of understanding the site, studying its environmental conditions, and translating those observations into an architectural response. The site analysis and solar study helped establish the orientation, openings, circulation, and spatial relationships, while the design intention explored the connection between the architect’s workspace and residence.

Through a series of sketches, explorations, and iterations, the initial ideas gradually developed into the final form. The resulting design brings together function, climate, movement, light, and architectural expression, creating a space that responds to both the character of the site and the life of its user.

FUTURE MOBILITY HUB | Design Studio IV | Follow the Masters

Over the past four weeks, students explored a compact program of fuel, EV charging, a super shop, and a rest area, with particular attention to the canopy as the primary architectural element.

Each student studied the design approach of a contemporary master and attempted to translate those ideas into their own architectural response. The final models presented at the jury reflect a range of interpretations of form, structure, movement, and contemporary architectural expression.

It was encouraging to see how differently the same brief could be understood and developed.

*🎉Announcement of Achievements🎉*

We are pleased to share that Ar. Syed Mohsin Ali (A-409), Associate Professor and Head of the Architecture Department, has attained full membership in the Institute of Architects, Bangladesh (IAB). This accomplishment marks a significant milestone in his professional career, and we extend our sincere congratulations to him.

In addition, we are proud to acknowledge that Ar. Tanjima Siddika Chandni (C-091), Assistant Professor, has held full membership with the IAB since October 2024. We also extend our heartfelt congratulations to her for this achievement.

The Institute of Architects, Bangladesh (IAB) serves as the national professional organization responsible for regulating architectural practice in the country. Attaining membership is essential to sign off on building designs and practice architecture legally in Bangladesh. The memberships of both Ar. Syed Mohsin Ali and Ar. Tanjima Siddika Chandni will enhance collaboration between the IAB and the Architecture Department at Leading University in the future.
