Congratulations, TFP 8th Batch! 🎓
Today (03 September 2026) marks a significant milestone in the journey of the 8th Batch of the Department of Television, Film and Photography, University of Dhaka.
With the publication of their final semester results, they have successfully completed their BSS (Honours) programme.
Four years ago, they walked into this department as freshers, with questions, uncertainties, dreams, and perhaps little idea of where this journey would take them. Since then, they have learned to hold a camera, shape a frame, listen to a story, understand an image, create with sound and light, and, most importantly, to look at the world with greater curiosity and imagination.
Beyond classrooms, studios, assignments, productions, deadlines, and examinations, they have also learned something less visible: how to see, how to feel, how to question, and how to tell stories about the world and about themselves.
Along the way came long days and longer nights, moments of excitement and frustration, laughter and disagreements, friendships and memories. Through all these ordinary and extraordinary moments, a batch became a community, and young learners became storytellers, thinkers, and practitioners.
Today, one important chapter of that journey comes to a close.
But this is not a farewell.
For many, the journey with the department will continue into new academic and professional chapters. Whether they remain within these familiar classrooms and corridors or carry their learning into new places, the years spent here will remain an enduring part of who they are and what they create.
Dear 8th Batch,
You entered this department with dreams yet to take shape.
Today, you stand at the threshold of everything those dreams may become.
There is still so much to learn, so much to discover, and so many stories waiting to be told.
The Department of Television, Film and Photography is proud of what you have accomplished and warmly congratulates each and every member of the 8th Batch.
May you continue to see deeply, think boldly, create fearlessly, and tell stories that matter.
And wherever the next chapter takes you, may you always remember the place where you learned to see the world through a different frame.
