HOT TAKE: JAMB has failed Nigerian students than it has served.

Do you agree or disagree?

MYTH 101 🖋️

"ONLY STUDENTS FROM WEALTHY FAMILIES CAN STUDY ABROAD".

26/06/2026

A question we receive frequently from technology-track students: should I apply for Computer Science or Computer Engineering? And is there a difference abroad?

Let me clarify this properly.

COMPUTER SCIENCE (CS):
Focuses on the theoretical and software foundations of computing. Algorithms, data structures, programming paradigms, artificial intelligence, software engineering. Graduates typically work in software development, data science, research.

COMPUTER ENGINEERING (CpE):
Bridges computer science and electrical engineering. Focuses on hardware-software integration, embedded systems, network architecture, processor design. Graduates work in hardware development, embedded systems, network engineering.

For most Nigerian students interested in software development, web development, mobile apps or data science: Computer Science is the more direct route.

For students interested in hardware, IoT, robotics or network infrastructure: Computer Engineering.

AVAILABILITY ABROAD:
Both are available at our partner institutions. Computer Science is more widely available. Computer Engineering is available at select institutions. We confirm availability during consultation.

O'LEVEL REQUIREMENTS:
Both require Mathematics and Physics. Computer Science typically accepts these without Chemistry. Computer Engineering may require Chemistry at some institutions.

Our advice: tell us specifically what you want to work on after graduation. We will recommend the course that leads there most directly.

Reply "CS OR CPE" and we will discuss your specific goals.

The supplementary UTME or change of course offer may be sitting in your portal right now.

Radiography when you wanted Medicine.
Botany when you wanted Biochemistry.
Industrial Chemistry when you wanted Pharmacy.
Insurance when you wanted Finance.

An offer. Just not the right one.

And the pressure is building to accept it. "At least you are in school." "You can switch after." "It is better than nothing."

Before you click accept, give yourself 48 hours to explore one specific alternative.

Contact Skyland Educonsult International. Tell us the course you actually wanted. Tell us your O'level result.

We will tell you in one consultation whether the course you originally chose is available abroad at an accredited institution that meets the NYSC recognition standard.

If the answer is yes and the pathway is realistic for your family, you have a genuine choice to make. Accept the supplementary and settle, or pursue the original course through a different route.

If the answer is no or the pathway is not feasible, you can accept the supplementary with the knowledge that you explored your options fully.

We are not telling you to reject the supplementary offer before speaking to us. We are telling you not to accept it without having the information to make an informed choice.

48 hours. One consultation. Then decide.

DM us "SUPPLEMENTARY" today.

A PUBLIC REMINDER‼️‼️‼️

Someone asked me last week: "What does Skyland Educonsult International actually do? In one sentence."

Here it is.

We help Nigerian students who could not get into the university they wanted through JAMB find accredited university programs abroad that lead to real degrees, real NYSC, and real careers.

That is the sentence.

Everything else we post is an expansion of that sentence. The stories. The country breakdowns. The cost comparisons. The myth-busting. The process explanations.

All of it is the evidence behind that one sentence.

If you know a Nigerian student right now who could not get into the university they wanted through JAMB, that sentence is what they need.

Send them this post. Or send them our number. Or just say the sentence to them directly.

"There is an agency that helps students who could not get in through JAMB find accredited university programs abroad that lead to real degrees, real NYSC, and real careers."

One sentence. One share. Possibly one changed September.

For every student who chose Pharmacy and scored below the cutoff.

Let me give you the specific facts.

Pharmacy in Nigeria requires cutoffs of 200–260+ depending on the school. The available spaces are limited. The competition is fierce.

Pharmacy in Benin Republic (through Skyland Educonsult International):
🖋️Accredited program taught in English
🖋️Admission based on O'level with relevant science subjects — Chemistry, Biology, Physics/Maths required
🖋️Program duration: 5 years (standard for Pharmacy globally)
🖋️Graduates return to Nigeria and can register with the Pharmacists Council of Nigeria after the foreign graduate verification process
🖋️Nigerian pharmacists trained in Benin Republic are practicing today

The pathway exists. It has been walked. It leads to the same professional destination.

What's different: the route doesn't include a JAMB score of 260.

What's required: your science O'level credits and your commitment to the work.

If you have both, you qualify.

DM Skyland Educonsult International the word "PHARMACY."

We'll walk you through the specific program, entry requirements, cost and September 2026 timeline.

Your dispensary is still coming. Through a different road.

24/06/2026

Quick check-in:

Do you have:

✅ A WAEC or NECO result with 5 credits, including English Language?
✅ A JAMB result (any score, even low)?
✅ A passport or willingness to get one?
✅ A course you want to study?

If yes to all four, you are eligible to begin the application process for university admission abroad with Skyland Educonsult International.

Your JAMB score doesn't eliminate you from this process. Your O'level is what qualifies you.

Most people who contact us discover they already have everything they need. They just didn't know how to use it.

Reply "QUALIFY" and we'll confirm your eligibility in our first conversation at no charge.

1999. 2001. 2002. 2003. 2005. 2006. 2007. 2008. 2009. 2010. 2011. 2013. 2017. 2018. 2020. 2022.

That is a list of years in which ASUU went on strike in Nigerian universities.

Sixteen strikes in twenty-three years.

This is not commentary. This is a documented historical record.

Now ask yourself this:

If a financial institution had a 16-interruption record in 23 years, would you trust it with your savings?

If a hospital had a 16-closure record in 23 years, would you schedule a surgery there?

Why, then, do we expect students to schedule four years of their life; their most formative, most irreplaceable years, in a system with this record?

I am not criticising the lecturers who strike for better conditions. Their conditions deserve improvement.

I am asking whether the students who pay the price of those strikes have the right to choose a different system.

Skyland Educonsult International says yes. They do.

Universities in Benin Republic, Ghana, Poland and Canada. Zero comparable strike record. Four years means four years.

DM us. The data has been making this case for 23 years.
