It is with profound sorrow that the UP Society of Men mourns the passing of one of the founding pillars of this prestigious brotherhood—Dr. Oliver Relano Tuico, Sr.*

Through his vision, courage, and unwavering dedication, he helped shape the values and spirit that continue to bind generations of brothers together today.

Though we grieve this immense loss, we also honor a life lived in service, brotherhood, and purpose. His legacy will remain etched in the hearts of every Tried and True brother, serving as a guiding star for all who carry the name and ideals of the Society of Men.

May we continue to uphold the principles he helped build, and may his memory live on through the brotherhood he helped create.

The UP Society of Men proudly congratulates our esteemed brother, Dr. Raul H. Dado (RATBU 81-C), on his well-deserved promotion to the rank of Chief of Mission (Ambassador).

Currently stationed in Manila, he plays a vital role in managing overseas voting for Filipinos worldwide for the 2028 National Elections at the Department of Foreign Affairs. A proud member of UPCVM Class of 1985 and UP College of Law Class of 1994, his career spans remarkable service—as a lawyer in the Philippine Senate and Court of Appeals, a newswriter for GMA News, and a distinguished diplomat across Europe, Asia, and the Middle East.

From serving as Minister and Deputy Chief of Mission in Norway, Consul General in Sweden and Kuwait, to undertaking special missions for the welfare of Filipinos abroad, your dedication to public service is truly inspiring. In recognition of his exemplary service, he was awarded the Gawad Mabini Presidential Award—the highest foreign service decoration—in 2019.

The UP Society of Men mourns the passing of Dr. Hospicio S. Timbol’58, who left us on January 28, 2026.

Born on August 14, 1939, Dr. Timbol’s life leaves a lasting mark on the lives he touched. We honor his memory, his service, and the legacy he leaves behind.

Our thoughts and deepest sympathies go out to his family, friends, and loved ones during this time of grief. May he rest in peace.
