LB Public Sphere

LB Public Sphere Laurier Brantford's Public Sphere club is open for all staff and students that are looking for a space to openly voice opinions on anything and everything!

The “public sphere” is a term that originates from the German philosopher Jürgen Habermas, describing a new phenomena of the Enlightenment; ordinary people, across all classes, gathering in cafes/coffee shops to discuss relevant contemporary social, political, and philosophical ideas. The purpose of the Laurier Brantford Public Sphere is to provide an open forum for any and all LB undergraduates t

o discuss ideas in that very same manner. Members from different programs at Laurier, cultural backgrounds, heritages and ideologies can offer new and often widely varying perspectives on issues that are greatly important and relevant to all of us in the modern world. If you feel you would enjoy debating in a space in which your voice and opinion will be heard, this is the club for you.
