Mount Saint Vincent University part-time instructors, represented by CUPE 3912, remain on strike after negotiations failed to reach a fair agreement.

Our part-time colleagues are essential to the academic life of MSVU: they teach, mentor, and uphold the mission of accessible, student-centred education that defines our community. Their call for fair compensation is reasonable, in line with sector standards, and reflects the value of their work.

The MSVU Faculty Association stands in full solidarity with CUPE 3912.

Members of the MSVUFA Equity Action Committee joined the picket line today to support our part-time colleagues, who teach 60% of courses at the Mount and are calling for fair wages, job security, and academic freedom.

We believe that fair working conditions for all faculty mean better learning conditions for students.

Dalhousie would be the first U15 university to lock out its faculty.
That’s a terrible precedent for Nova Scotia and for Canadian higher education.

The PEPS society is hosting a viewing of the Oscar-winning documentary No Other Land on April 3 at 5:30pm in Seton 307. Following the viewing, there will be a discussion by Dr. El Jones, Dr. Matthew MacLellan & Dr. Roni Gechtman.
