Orillia First Aid would like to remind everyone to hydrate and keep cool during these hot days of summer.

The best way to keep cool is to stay in air conditioning. However air conditioning is a luxury.
Stay in the shade when outside. Let the kids play in a sprinkler or wading pool --always supervised.

Inside close the curtains and point your fans so they are facing out to create movement and don't draw hot air in. Turn the fans around once the sun in down.

Cold compresses/ice packs, cool showers

When at the beach, remember to apply your sunscreen at least 20 minutes before entering the water.
Reapply often.

Also wear a hat!!

HYDRATE!!
#1 Water
#2 Gatorade/Powerade or similar
#3 Juice

NO CAFFIENE or CARBONATED beverages. They will not hydrate you efficiently enough in this kind of heat.
