Ottawa-Carleton Institute for Civil Engineering A joint institute established by the Dept. of Civil Engineering at the University of Ottawa and the Dept. of Civil Engineering at Carleton University.

The Ottawa-Carleton Institute for Civil Engineering (OCICE) was established by the Department of Civil Engineering at Carleton University and the Department of Civil Engineering at the University of Ottawa, both located in the city of Ottawa, to combine the research strengths of the two departments and to give students access to the professors, courses and facilities at both universities. Students

register at the university with which their supervisor is affiliated but have free access to the classes and facilities at both universities. The Institute offers programs leading to Master’s degree with or without thesis and to Ph.D. in the following research areas:

Environmental Engineering
Geotechnical Engineering
Transportation Engineering
Structural Engineering
Water Resources Engineering
Fire Safety Engineering

Students accepted to the Institute register at the university to which the research supervisor is affiliated. Courses can be taken at both universities.
