The 2026 excavation season of the Torre Mordillo Archaeological Project (TMAP) has officially begun with the cleaning of the excavation area and the preparation of the trenches ahead of the arrival of the full team on June 1st!

A huge thank you to the Municipality of Spezzano Albanese and Ing. Giuseppe Liguori for their continued support of the project.

Special thanks also to Giuseppe Lucarelli and Simone Madeo for their exceptional work in preparing the site and ensuring everything is ready for the start of the season. We look forward to another exciting summer at Torre Mordillo!

This course will explore the institution of slavery in the Greek and Roman worlds, examining its social, economic, political, and cultural dimensions while encouraging critical engagement with one of the most significant aspects of ancient society.
