The 2026 excavation season of the Torre Mordillo Archaeological Project (TMAP) has officially begun with the cleaning of the excavation area and the preparation of the trenches ahead of the arrival of the full team on June 1st!

A huge thank you to the Municipality of Spezzano Albanese and Ing. Giuseppe Liguori for their continued support of the project.

Special thanks also to Giuseppe Lucarelli and Simone Madeo for their exceptional work in preparing the site and ensuring everything is ready for the start of the season. We look forward to another exciting summer at Torre Mordillo!

The Department of Classics is pleased to highlight its Archaeology course offerings for the 2026/2027 academic year.

These courses provide students with the opportunity to explore the archaeology of the ancient world through the study of material culture, ancient landscapes, excavation methods, and past societies, while developing research, analytical, and interpretive skills.
