Some highlights from the last two weeks! Presented once again by the Sustainable Development Office team🥳

1. Robin and Emilie have done it again! These local and incredibly skilled flower farmers could be spotted on convocation day assembling and selling the most beautiful purple flower bouquets. As graduates ourselves - we couldn't help but get our hands on our very own bouquets in celebration of our successes (through our tears... we will miss you BU!)🪻

2. Caught red... pawed? Geraldine groundhog (not to be confused with Georgina) was spotted among the wildflowers, of one of the pollinator islands, munching away on some leaves! She felt no shame sacrificing the beauty of the garden for a snack, and even posed proudly for a photo. Wait until the other campus groundhogs hear about this!

3. Proudly posing with Rhubarb from her plot at the community garden, Andra will be using it to make Rhubarb bread! Yum! Following a cold spring, things are finally growing 🥰

4. Bees being buzzy at their bee-eautiful hive! Our weekly bee check was a success. These ladies are hard at work and growing fast in numbers. We put on the queen excluder and a honey box! This is a box full of frames that the bees will build comb on - because the queen can't get through the queen grate, only honey and pollen will be stored here.

5. As the risk of frost subsides, gardeners are eagerly transplanting herbs and fruit/vegetable plants in their garden boxes.

This combination of rosemary, thyme, basil and cilantro were absolutely fragrant! One of our gardeners transplanted these to their plot which they have assigned specifically as their "Spaghetti sauce" garden - soon adding tomatoes and peppers!
