That’s about to change, because we’re getting ready to welcome our students back to campus for the start of a new academic year!

Join us for New Student Orientation on Friday, September 4 at our Prince Rupert, Terrace, and Smithers campuses. It’s a chance to learn more about your new community, go on a tour, and have a delicious meal with your fellow new students.

We can’t wait to see you back on campus and start the year with you!

As the CMTN team across all our campuses slowly comes down from the Galts’ap Day high (Galts'ap meaning “community” in Sm’algyax) from last August 26, we want to give a huge shoutout to Kelli Clifton for bringing our Galts’ap Day theme to life!

Kelli’s design made its way onto our shirts and cookies, adding a special touch to our gathering and helping bring the spirit of community to life in more ways than one. Thank you, for helping make our Galts’ap Day even more memorable!

Galts’ap means “community” in Sm’algyax, and that’s exactly what Galts'ap Day was all about!

Every year, Galts’ap Day brings our CMTN team together to connect, learn, and have a little fun outside our usual workspaces. And on August 26, we spent the day at the North Pacific Cannery in Port Edward to explore the historic site, share stories, and learn more about the place and communities around us.

Our senior leadership team joined in too: Laurie Waye, President and CEO; Michael Doyle, Vice-President of Corporate Services; and T**i Kunkel, Vice-President of Academic, Students, and International, all sporting their Galts’ap Day shirts and getting into the spirit of the day.

A special thank you to Elders Murray Smith and Louisa Smith, who shared their stories and experiences of growing up around the cannery. Their stories added so much meaning to our day and helped us connect more deeply with the place we were learning in.

And a big shoutout to our Galts’ap Day events committee for putting together a day that was thoughtful, engaging, and a whole lot of fun!

Come join us this Friday (August 21) for a fun evening of pizza, games, college info and swimming! If you’re a high school student in Prince Rupert and curious about what’s next after graduation (or have absolutely no idea yet), hang out with us and ask questions about our programs and available supports. See you there!

This Friday, August 21st, we’re bringing together 𝐩𝐢𝐳𝐳𝐚, 𝐠𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐬, 𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐠𝐞 𝐢𝐧𝐟𝐨 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐚 𝐰𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐞 𝐥𝐨𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐟𝐮𝐧 for a special Fun Friday!

We’re teaming up with Coast Mountain College for an evening that starts with getting your brain working… and ends with getting in the pool!

📍 𝟔 𝐏𝐌 – 𝐏𝐨𝐨𝐥 𝐋𝐨𝐛𝐛𝐲
Coast Mountain College will be joining us with pizza and some fun, fast-paced board games. High school students will also have a chance to ask questions about programs and opportunities they can explore at the college while they’re still in high school. Whether you know exactly what you want to do or have absolutely no idea yet, come ask away!

🏊 𝟕 𝐏𝐌 – 𝐏𝐨𝐨𝐥
Once the games are done, it’s time to trade the game board for the pool and take the plunge!

And there’s an extra reason to join us: this is our last Fun Friday swim before the pool closes for annual maintenance on August 24th. So if you’ve been meaning to come out, this is your sign!
