Meet OISE alum Sirichai (Song) Limpanapongpan, a registered early childhood educator and U of T’s Housing Life Coordinator, Community & Recreation.
Sirichai helps care for U of T students, children and families by supporting the residents’ community on campus. Last year, Sirichai also became a sessional lecturer at Conestoga College.
Sirichai was awarded the Outstanding Individual Employee Award in 2021 for achievements including helping international students connect with their families. The community-oriented pedagogical leader also created a YouTube channel called Song’s Daily Drop-In which eventually expanded into in-person drop-in sessions for families in residence. Sirichai shared tips for parents on everything from reading with their children to teaching them sign language.
With over 13 years of teaching, training, and program development experience in Canada and a decade of international work in Thailand, Singapore and Jamaica, Sirichai brings a global and relational approach to learning communities.
And his journey is just ramping up.
In 2026, Sirichai embarked on PhD studies in OISE’s Adult Education and Community Development program. His studies will bridge knowledge from his first OISE degree in developmental psychology and education with research in workplace learning and social change — to better support educators’ well-being, professional growth, and sense of belonging.
At his core, Sirichai is passionate about supporting historically underserved communities including educators and learners with exceptionalities and those navigating mental health challenges. He believes that fair compensation, meaningful accommodations, and supportive work environments are not privileges but rights.
✨📣 Today we spotlight Sirichai because of his exemplary talent to build people up and ensure everyone he meets feels safe and seen.
