✔ Hands-on workshops & academic exploration
✔ Cultural orientation & Elder teachings
✔ Indigenous campus tours & community connection
✔ Admissions guidance & student support resources
✔ Dorm accommodations for the week

Today is World Environmental Day. Caring for the environment is not only about conservation, it is about responsibility, reciprocity, and respect.

Today, we encourage our community to reflect on their relationship with the land and consider small actions that support a healthier future for all, and the seven generations after us.

Here's a heartfelt Instagram thank-you post that honours the community, organizers, creators, and significance of the installation:

🧡👣 Honouring Indigenous Presence, Community & Connection 👣🧡

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us for the unveiling of York University’s Moccasin Identifier Installation and helped us begin Indigenous History Month in such a meaningful way.

This installation is more than artwork — it is a reminder of Indigenous presence, belonging, resilience, and the importance of creating spaces where Indigenous students, staff, faculty, and community members feel seen, welcomed, and celebrated.

We extend our deepest gratitude to the incredible organizers, creators, artists, and community members who brought this vision to life. Your dedication, creativity, and care made this initiative possible — from the conversations and planning behind the scenes to the creation and installation of this powerful symbol of Indigenous identity and connection.

Thank you for the time, knowledge, and heart you poured into building something that will continue to educate, inspire, and create a stronger sense of belonging for generations of students to come.

As we continue through Indigenous History Month, may we keep honouring Indigenous stories, uplifting Indigenous voices, and creating spaces rooted in respect, relationship, and community.
