MICHELLE COHEN’S FORMAL AND INFORMAL EDUCATION PAVED THE WAY TO HER BECOMING THE ACCOMPLISHED ARTIST SHE IS TODAY! While completing her degree in Religious Studies at York University, Michelle continued to pursue her passion for art, taking Fine Arts courses with a specific focus on painting and drawing. She received her Bachelor of Education and Jewish Teacher Training Certificate in 1998. Since

then she has been teaching Visual Arts and Integrated Judaic Arts in Toronto’s Jewish Day School system. Michelle’s handmade original artwork is complimented by a combination of acrylic, watercolour and gauche paints as well as a variety of handmade papers. The Ketubah Garden’s inventory of original artwork for ketubah prints continues to grow. Michelle has been painting ketubot for many years - what began as a hobby has turned, through word of mouth, into a flourishing endeavor. For those who may wish to commission an entirely personalized handmade original ketubah, Michelle’s artistic versatility can capture the personality and “colour” that any couple chooses. She will work with you to design a ketubah that will reflect the themes each couple wishes to express for their wedding day and future together. All hand painted ketubot start at $650. Prices vary depending on the size and amount of detail in the personalized design. Michelle has been interviewed in The Canadian Jewish News. Read Crafting keepsake ketubot from 2009 and Ketubah captures the meaning of marriage from 2013.
