MELT PROGRAM OUTLINE
Duration: 104 hours over 8 weeks.
This program includes all mandatory objectives set forth in the Ministry of Transportation’s Commercial Truck Driver Training Standard (Class A), released July 2016. Subjects of the program include:
Employment in the Commercial Vehicle Industry
Vehicle Components & Systems
Basic Driving Techniques
Professional Driving Habits
Tractor-Trailer Off-Road Tasks and Manoeuvres
Documents, Paperwork and Regulatory Requirements
Vehicle Inspection Activities
Hours of Service Compliance
Cargo Securement
Handling Emergencies
This program includes both classroom and practical training. The hands-on training takes place in the yard and on the road using a tractor-trailer, while under the instruction of a qualified trainer. Students will also engage in various classroom activities to help prepare for a career as a professional driver.

Admission with advanced standing
1. DZ LICENSE WITH MINIMUM 1 YER PRIOR WORK EXPERIENCE
2. BZ. LICENSE WITH MINIMUM 1 YER PRIOR WORK EXPERIENCE
3. AZ Licence or equivalent from another province with minimum 1 YEAR PRIOR WORK EXPERIENCE
4. AZ Licence or equivalent from another country with minimum 1 YEAR PRIOR WORK EXPERIENCE
5. Minimum 1 Year AZ. PRIOR WORK EXPERIENCE in Ontario but had their licenses downgraded

Air Brake Endorsement Certificate from the Ontario Safety League
We offer training on vehicles AZ DZ C B equipped with the latest safety devices such as, anti-brake systems, electronic stability programs etc. If you plan to upgrade your current Class "G" license to a higher class, you need the 12 hours air brake course.
This course is designed to provide students with complete and thorough knowledge of the air brake system. Students will be able to identify all of the air brake components and ensure that they are in proper working order. It is mandatory for the operator of an air brake equipped vehicle to have a "Z" endorsement in their license

In July of this year the ministry had changed its rules to make it
mandatory that all drivers wishing to obtain an AZ license will require
to go through the MELT program, also known as the Commercial Truck
Driver Training Standard (Class A)

we offer this course in a 5 week program totaling 104 hours. The tuition
for this program is $7500 plus $200 for books and materials plus a few
other expenses for ministry booking fees.
Subjects in the curriculum include:
Employment in the Commercial Vehicle Industry
Vehicle Components & Systems
Basic Driving Techniques
Professional Driving Habits
Tractor-Trailer Off-Road Tasks and Man oeuvres
Documents, Paperwork and Regulatory Requirements
Vehicle Inspection Activities
Hours of Service Compliance
Cargo Securement
Handling Emergencies
At the end of this program you will be eligible for the AZ license.
Please make note that the Air Break Endorsement course for Class Z is
included in the course.
