Every year on October 17, we pay tribute to one of Poland’s greatest musical geniuses, commemorating the anniversary of Frédéric Chopin’s death, 177 years ago.

This year, Apollon Musagète Quartet offered a remarkable transcription of Mozart’s Requiem — a deeply moving musical experience.

Reuniting with old musical friends, sharing the beauty of such extraordinary music, and reconnecting through the timeless language of the Requiem reminded us of the fragility of life and the inevitability of death. Through music, we are invited to reflect on our own mortality and on the mystery of what may lie beyond this world.

Some encounters, some melodies, and some moments of shared music stay with us long after the final note has faded.

We are delighted to have Kawai as the official sponsor of the Jeune Chopin Competition and are truly grateful for their generous support of young pianists and music education.
Unfortunately, we are unable to accept any further participants. Prof.Magdalena Hirsz, Prof.Akiko Ebi and Prof.Grzegorz Niemczuk are looking forward to welcoming and working with talented young pianists from all around the world very soon.

Est-ce que des enfants peuvent nous émouvoir jusqu’aux larmes ? Oui, ils le peuvent. Et ce fut précisément le cas lors du dernier récital donné par Antonio Pavan à Bienne, lauréat du concours Jeune Chopin 2025.
Un chant infini, sans prétention, sans artifice, sans ce côté théâtral si présent aujourd’hui sur les scènes de concert. Une musicalité sincère et profonde qui touche directement au cœur.
Bravo, Antonio ! Nous croisons les doigts pour ton avenir musical et te souhaitons un magnifique chemin artistique. ❤️

La semaine passée, nous avons eu le bonheur d’entendre l’intégrale des Bagatelles de Beethoven, interprétée par un pianiste exceptionnel, Markus Groh, sur un instrument tout aussi remarquable : un piano Bösendorfer appartenant à la pianiste Brigitte Meyer, qui souhaite aujourd’hui le vendre.
Ce magnifique piano a été entièrement restauré avec le plus grand soin par Frank Bühler et est depuis entretenu par Julien Vernaz.
Voici, dans la troisième Bagatelle de l’Op. 126 de Beethoven, comment cet instrument merveilleux peut encore faire entendre toute sa richesse, sa profondeur et sa poésie.

À seulement 13 ans, Antonio impressionne par sa remarquable maturité musicale, tant comme pianiste que comme compositeur. Il nous offrira un récital et partagera également la scène avec une violoniste à l’occasion d’un magnifique duo.

Celebrating Beethoven first with the complete Bagatelles, beautifully performed by Markus Groh, and the following day with his Second Piano Concerto, magnificently interpreted by Martha Argerich and Lahav Shani conducting the Munich Philharmonic.
Does the music Beethoven left us still give us the joy and strength to carry on with our lives, even when they are difficult? In the hands of today’s artists, can his music still bring us peace and a sense of hope in our troubled world?
Perhaps this is one of the greatest gifts of music: to remind us, even in the darkest moments, of the beauty of being alive.

Life can sometimes be unpredictable, and unfortunately, we have had to face a difficult situation: our laureate, Ivan Chepkin, will ultimately be unable to travel to Switzerland to perform.
Nevertheless, the F. Chopin Institute is very proud to announce that this exceptional concert will go ahead, thanks to the presence of internationally renowned pianist Markus Groh, First Prize winner of the prestigious Queen Elisabeth Competition, who has graciously accepted, at the very last minute, to take on this extraordinary challenge and perform this Sunday.
This is a wonderful opportunity not to be missed: the complete set of Beethoven’s Bagatelles, performed on Brigitte Meyer’s magnificent Bösendorfer piano.

Daphné Delicata was among the very first laureates of the inaugural Jeune Chopin Competition in 2018. Then, she was a gifted child whose artistry already hinted at a remarkable future.
Today, she is studying Music at the University of Cambridge, where her curiosity extends beyond the piano to the enchanting world of ancient instruments and the beauty of poetry. Her artistic path continues to blossom with grace, sensitivity, and intellect.
The child we first welcomed has become a remarkable young lady. The Chopin Institute follows her journey with pride and affection, wishing her every success as she continues to share her musical voice with the world.
