In 1998 St. Francis School of Nursing and Midwifery was opened as a training school for nurses and in the same year Dr. Biaka was awarded Fellowship by the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists of England.The growing complex saw continuous growth and expansion with the opening of St. Francis Higher Institute of Nursing and Midwifery in 2007 and St. Francis School of Health Sciences in

2010. Francis School of Health Sciences was upgraded to the St. Francis Advanced School of Health Sciences. Today, a legacy and dream come true has been touched with the hopes of the best is yet to come. The St. Francis Schools have been upgraded by Ministerial circular No: 16- 01806/L/MINESUP/DDES/ESUP/SDA/OPC of February 26th, 2016, To BIAKA UNIVERSITY INSTITUTE OF BUEA (BUIB) to as the second University Institute in Buea. All mentored by the University of Buea (UB). This upgrade gave BUIB the onus to run three schools–Health Sciences (her mother entity), Education and Management Sciences. Courses run from HND to Bachelors in the various schools beginning from the2016/2017 Academic year. Presently, Biaka oversees a rapidly expanding complex which receives at least 1500 students each year in different health profession programmes as well as meeting the needs of patients with different conditions at the St. Veronica Polyclinic.

Yesterday, The Biaka Group through the Dr. Biaka Memorial Foundation was honoured to welcome The Most Reverend and Right Honourable Dame Sarah Mullally DBE, Archbishop of Canterbury.
The historic visit brought together an array of personalities including the Governor of the South West Region, the Divisional Officer for Buea, religious leaders, traditional authorities, distinguished guests, staff, and students in a celebration of faith, education, healthcare, and community development.
The visit reaffirmed the shared commitment to servant leadership, meaningful partnerships, and transforming lives through quality education, healthcare, and humanitarian service.

Yesterday, the 19th Senate meeting of the Biaka University Institute of Buea (BUIB) convened to evaluate and approve the Second Semester examination results for the 2025/2026 academic year.
Chaired by the Vice Chancellor, Dr. Che Mary Lum epse Feh, the meeting brought together members of the University’s highest academic decision-making body to carefully review students’ academic performance and ensure that all results met the University’s quality assurance and academic standards before approval.
Following the successful conclusion of the Senate meeting, the approved Second Semester results will be released later this weekend. Students are encouraged to stay tuned to the University’s official communication channels for the official publication.

Biaka Group and University of Yaoundé l sign strategic MOU

Earlier today, the Biaka Group was honored to receive Rt Rev. Dibo Elango, Bishop of the Anglican Diocese of Cameroon on a brief courtesy visit as part of preparations for the forthcoming official visit of the Archbishop of Canterbury to Cameroon and the Biaka Group.
The meeting focused on preliminary planning and coordination to ensure a successful and meaningful visit. Discussions also highlighted the importance of strengthening partnerships in education, healthcare, leadership development, and community service.
The Biaka Group looks forward to welcoming the Archbishop of Canterbury and to an enriching visit that will further deepen collaboration and shared values in service to humanity.
