💡 Implantable bioelectronics hold transformative potential for health monitoring, neural prosthetics, and brain-computer interfaces. However, conventional hydrogel implants face a persistent challenge: once placed inside the human body, their wet environment causes them to swell, lose structural integrity, degrade mechanically, and suffer electrical failure.

📝 In a study published in Nature Materials, researchers present a solution to this long-standing issue: 3D-printed, anti-swelling, biphasic conductive hydrogel bioelectronics.

🍉 This summer, 51 students from 8 universities across China and the UK came together for the 2026 Yinghua Fellowship Summer Camp, embarking on a 3-week journey across the Greater Bay Area, Hangzhou, Shanghai, and Beijing to explore how technology and tradition come together to shape China's future. Westlake University proudly hosted the promising youth for the Hangzhou leg of their adventure!

⛱️ First stop: Hangzhou's Umbrella Museum, where our Yinghua Fellows tried their hand at a centuries-old intangible cultural heritage craft, assembling and painting each umbrella with delicate precision.

⛱️Crafting umbrellas from scratch, we are reminded that culture isn't something you just observe; it's something you imagine, customize, and construct with your own hands.

🧬 Nucleic acid engineering is transforming both disease diagnosis and therapy by enabling precise manipulation and detection of genetic material. Symposium #6 will highlight recent breakthroughs, address current challenges, and explore emerging strategies in nucleic acid therapy.

🌍 Co-organized with Science/AAAS, this session brings together leading researchers from MIT, UMass Chan Medical School, UCLA and Westlake University. A rare opportunity to hear from the scientists at the forefront of life sciences.
