Explaining the Grid Delivery Summit in 30 seconds? Easy, we said 🎬😅
It took a few takes. But we know delivering the grid takes a lot more ⚡

Transformer lead times have doubled. Factories are stretched. Supply chains are under strain. Ambition isn't the problem anymore. Delivery is.

So we're bringing the people who specify, build and supply grid infrastructure into one room at CWIEME Berlin, to work out how it actually gets built.

📅 27–28 April 2027 | 📍Co-located with CWIEME Berlin

⚡ SF₆-free switchgear is coming. But is the supply chain ready?

As regulations accelerate the transition, manufacturers and utilities face decisions around:
🔌 Alternative insulation technologies
🏭 Manufacturing capacity
📋 Regulatory compliance
⚙️ Long-term equipment reliability

What will be the biggest challenge in scaling SF₆-free switchgear?

The transition to a low carbon energy system is reshaping every part of the electricity network, from transformers and substations to the materials and components that make modern grids possible. One area attracting growing attention is switchgear.

⏳ Transformer lead times. Manufacturing bottlenecks. Grid connection backlogs.
Who's ready to get grid infrastructure delivered at scale? 🤝

In just 7 days, registration opens for the Grid Delivery Summit.

With only 100 places available, we're bringing together TSOs, DSOs, utilities, EPCs, OEMs and suppliers to address the constraints holding back grid infrastructure delivery.

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗰𝘂𝘀? Aligning grid requirements with manufacturing capacity, equipment availability and supply chain realities to accelerate delivery at scale.

📅 Registration opens 20 October.

🔍 What if extending a transformer’s life could be as valuable as replacing it?

With grid demand growing, remanufacturing is becoming an important part of asset management.
⚙️ Digital diagnostics
🔧 Advanced refurbishment
♻️ Circular materials
📊 Predictive maintenance

What does this mean for companies like Hitachi Energy, Siemens Energy and Reinhausen?

📖 Explore five trends shaping transformer remanufacturing:

Transformer remanufacturing has traditionally been viewed as a specialist service carried out when equipment reached a certain age or experienced operational issues.

🏆 A proud CWIEME moment in Vienna this week

Our Portfolio Director Melissa Magestro was recognised with an Industry Champion Award at the Transformer Magazine Industry Navigator Conference 2026.

The recognition reflects something we care deeply about at CWIEME: showing up for this industry year after year, building long-term partnerships and creating the space for its people to connect.

Melissa joined an impressive group of Industry Champions from across the transformer community, including representatives from Hitachi Energy, KONČAR Group, SGB-SMIT Group, Siemens Energy, thyssenkrupp, Nynas AB, Essex Solutions and many more.

A huge congratulations to Melissa and the wider CWIEME team, all of this year’s recipients, and thank you to Transformer Magazine for the recognition 👏

In April, Raj Bag won the 2026 Future Engineer Award for his work using robotics and additive manufacturing to address a real production challenge.
Today, he’s putting that engineering thinking into practice during an internship with our award sponsor Hitachi Energy.

Please join us in congratulating, Raj. We’re proud to have played a small part in what comes next for you.

And once again, a big thank you to Peter Purcell (Head of Transformer Insulation & Components Europe), alongside Alexander Sauer (Hub Product Line HR) and Katharina Kunz (Communication Expert for Employer Branding) and the wider Hitachi Energy team for helping turn recognition into a real industry opportunity.

And now, we’re looking ahead.

🏆 The CWIEME Awards return in 2027.

We can’t wait to discover the engineering projects, technical case studies and people that deserve their moment in Berlin next year.
