We are taking action to highlight what often remains invisible: the everyday barriers in our neighborhood and the invisible challenges that many people with disabilities face. We will make our way together through Niederschönhausen, point out specific locations, share experiences, and make a mark for change at every problematic spot! 🟡

Witness powerful frontline stories through the lens of photographer Kuba Laichter.
These images were captured over six years on the frontlines in Ukraine documenting resilience, loss, and the human cost of war.

Join us tomorrow for Between the Fire and the Camera, where Kuba will present his work once again in a new setting , followed by a discussion with Ukrainian photographer Nikoletta Stoyanova.📸🇺🇦
The evening also supports a fundraiser for their colleague Heorhii Ivanchenko, who is undergoing rehabilitation after losing his leg to an FPV drone.

We are happy to introduce Kamilla and Hana, our CE Fellows for this year leading Rem on campus. 🎉 “As Civic Engagement Fellows, this semester we aim to make Rem on Campus and its offerings more accessible to all Bardians.” Rem is a social initiative that enables university students to collaborate with local small businesses and NGOs through a semester-long pro bono partnership. By joining the program, BCB scholars can give back to the broader Berlin community and develop a final project that addresses the needs and concerns expressed by the entrepreneurs at the start of the collaboration.

“We believe that Rem provides a valuable and rewarding experience both professionally and personally. Regardless of the program you’re pursuing at BCB, there’s an opportunity to make a meaningful impact. To support current members as well as interested students, we will host info sessions and events alongside our standard semester-long sprints. We look forward to seeing the difference we can make together this fall!”💡

🗳️How Do Elections Work in Germany ?

Yesterday, we had an insightful session led by Dr. Berit Ebert, discussing the recent state elections (Landtagswahlen) in Thuringia and in Saxony, and the upcoming election in Brandenburg
, and their impact on next year's national Bundestag election. Dr. Berit Ebert, who teaches Political Sciences at BCB, also shared how these elections connect to EU politics and the global political climate. 🌍

The Civic Engagement Office at BCB is always working on new opportunities to dive deeper into important issues like this. We’re excited to kick off our Involved Campus Talk (Focus) series soon, where we’ll also explore other critical topics. Stay tuned for future events and don’t miss out!
