📢 Dear PhD candidates 📢

Most of our team is currently in the final semester of our PhDs 🎓—which means we’re fully immersed in processing a lot of information, tying up pending matters, and even catching up on unanswered emails. 📚💻

Because of this, we’re not holding regular meetings at the moment, but you’ll hear from us again in September, as we get ready to introduce the new Doctoral Convention team who will take over in October. 🎉✨

💪 Wishing you all strength and focus for your research! Keep an eye on our channels for updates and announcements. 🚀

Der Großteil unseres Teams befindet sich derzeit im letzten Semester der Promotion 🎓 – das heißt, wir sind voll damit beschäftigt, eine Menge an Informationen zu verarbeiten, offene Aufgaben abzuarbeiten und sogar noch einige unbeantwortete E-Mails zu beantworten. 📚💻

Daher finden momentan keine regulären Sitzungen statt. Ab September hört ihr wieder von uns – dann stellen wir euch bald das neue Doktorandenkonvent-Team vor, das im Oktober sein Amt übernimmt. 🎉✨

🚫 Stammtisch Cancelled
We’re sorry to announce that today’s Stammtisch (July 2) is cancelled due to the extreme heat.
Stay cool and safe 😎 we’ll let you know as soon as we have a new date!

🗳️ P.S. We’re still waiting for the final election results for the new team — but no worries! There will be plenty of time in September to prepare before the official handover in October 2025.

Would you like to represent doctoral candidates and make a difference? We are looking for candidates for the upcoming elections from June 10 to 17! 🙌

Tasks of the new Executive Committee members will include:
🔹 Representing the interests of doctoral candidates in university committees.
🔹 Managing the finances of the Doctoral Convention.
🔹 Organizing and supporting events for doctoral candidates.
🔹 Proposing and voting on amendments to the doctoral regulations of each faculty.
🔹 Networking with doctoral conventions of other universities.

👥 The Executive Committee will consist of 11 seats:
🔸 Two representatives for each field of study ("Wissenskultur"):
• Humanities
• Life Sciences
• Natural Sciences
• Social Sciences
🔸 One representative for each form of doctorate ("Promotionsarten"):
• Individual Doctorate
• Doctorate as an Academic Employee
• Doctorate at a Graduate School

📌 Requirements: You must be a PhD student at Heidelberg University and show commitment. After the election, there will be a transition period until October, during which the new and old Executive Committee (ExCo) members will work together to ensure a smooth transition.
