Join us – We have just launched the call for our 2027 Visiting Research Fellow Program! 🌐 📚
Work alongside outstanding international researchers in one of Germany’s most beautiful cities: The Leibniz Institute for East and Southeast European Studies (IOS) invites historians, economists, political scientists and scholars of cognate disciplines to apply as a 2027 guest researcher. You will work on projects that align with the Institute's focus and collaborate closely with IOS members.
What we offer:
• A stipend to support your stay of up to four weeks.
• Close cooperation with our three research departments (History, Economics, Politics) and exchange with specialized institutions at the Universität Regensburg.
• Full access to our extensive library holding over 360,000 media items of literature in humanities and social sciences relating to Eastern and Southeastern Europe + a variety of electronic research services and repositories.
• A fully equipped workplace situated close to the old town of Regensburg, a vibrant UNESCO World Heritage site known for its exceptional quality of life.
Additionally, we offer the opportunity for a dedicated fellowship linked to the VolkswagenStiftung-funded project Seeffield to advance Southeast European Studies.
