🎯Instructor’s Bio and Course Description:
Dr. Sara Hammad, PharmD, BCPS is currently an Associate Medical Director in Transplantation at Sanofi. Prior to this, she was a clinical pharmacist specializing in solid organ transplantation at the University of Maryland Medical Center. In this role, Sara focused on heart and lung transplant patients, prescribing immunosuppressive and anti-infective therapy for patients. She completed her two year pharmacy residency in pharmacy practice and solid organ transplantation at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital both at the Cornell and Columbia hospital campuses.
🎯In this lecture, Dr. Hammad will provide an overview of clinical pharmacy practice and her experiences in the United States. You will learn about the pathway to residency, the specialty areas a pharmacist can provide value in, and about interactions with the healthcare team. We will discuss the roles and responsibilities of a clinical pharmacist, and the value you can bring to the healthcare team. You will also learn about what job opportunities could be available for clinical pharmacists, including in a hospital setting, outpatient/clinic setting and even in industry
