Faculty of Information Technology - MUST The Faculty of Information Technology at Misr University for Science & Technology Overview :

There is no least doubt that now the whole world witnesses an age of information revolution, which differs in its features and characteristics from any of the previous ages. This information revolution age is considered a support for human-being’s mental abilities and all of the available aspects of knowledge. Moreover, the information production is the main criteria of the recent age with all its impacts on life generally and on the economic aspects specifically. The College of Information Technology was established in 2001, as one of the faculties of Misr University for Science and Technology (MUST), specialized in two main fields: Computer Science and Information Systems. It moves towards achieving tremendous information revolution and preparing distinguished human cadres on the Arab and national level. Furthermore, the college is very keen for its effective participation in the promising information sophistication as this field of technology has a real impact on developing the personal capacities, widening the mental horizons, and raising the humans’ ability of thinking, discussing and arguing. In response to the overwhelming demand of Information Technology (IT) Professionals throughout the world, MUST’s College of Information Technology is providing the educational environment to help the students in developing the theoretical groundwork and applied skills needed to pursue careers as IT professionals in computing, software development, manufacturing, service, public and other business sectors. It is overall philosophy of the college to offer a curriculum that is focused not only on theoretical work but also on the practical aspects of the technology itself. It is very tangible that the college of Information Technology cares about the hiring of prominent figures of the teaching staff, those who have solid knowledge together with theoretical and applied experience. They are capable of exploiting the available resources for sustaining the educational skills, estimating the students’ standard, preparing and developing the courses and administrating the educational process for achieving the goals in the best way exactly as internationally organized. A total of 140 credit hours are to be completed for Graduation. Vision Statement:- Access to the first rank in graduation qualified scientifically and technically regionally and globally in the areas of Information Technology

Mission Statement:- Graduation competencies distinct in Computer Science and Information Technology that meet the needs of the community industry, trade, and services at the local, regional and international levels, the introduction of modern technologies education systems that enable the graduate generations professionalism creativity and innovation in technology, and deepen the culture of information to the surrounding environment locally, regionally and globally by providing solutions and applications to Information Technology. Faculty Objectives:
1- Produce graduates with degrees that are internationally recognized as equivalent to degrees awarded in the leading countries who embrace both professional standards and new technologies and concepts in a global context.
2- Offer distinct quality of education for students to ensure complete satisfaction during study and upon graduation, either with a job placement or with further postgraduate studies.
3- Offer social activities and community service to contribute to that social and economic well being of its local and regional community.
4- Develop partnership with local, regional and international business and industrial sectors through research projects training and as partners in developing knowledge practice and applications.
5- Develop sustainable human resource including academic staff and administrative employees.
