🏆 THE ALSUN DUBBING CHALLENGE — Can you out-dub the master?

Amr Hosny gave Egypt its Disney voice. Now it's your turn to try.

We're inviting Al-Alsun students to dub a scene into your own Egyptian colloquial script. Rewrite the lines. Rebuild the jokes. Make it land the way only Egyptian can.

Welcome back to a new academic year, and, as always, we couldn't come empty-handed. 😌

We're thrilled to announce our Dubbing Contest in celebration of Translator's Day. 🎙️

📌 Requirements:

📍 Participants are required to dub the following scene (into Egyptian Arabic) starting from minute 1 in this video: https://youtu.be/OenZFl3G7hQ?si=5Roq9ZOcPkQ7q9v5
📍 You can participate individually or as a team. (Max participants are 5)
📍 The video should NOT exceed 1 minute
📍 Include your full name, academic year, phone number, and email. (for teams: each member should state their role and what they covered in a sheet attached in a drive link)
📍 Deadline for submission: October 2nd midnight

🎬 How to submit:
Upload your project to a drive link, make it accessible to anyone, and attach a sheet that includes each member’s responsibilities and your contact information.

🏆 Prizes:
Certificates will be awarded to those who practice their potential and maximize their creativity.

Shortlisted works will be screened, and the winner announced at our Translator's Day celebration on October 15th. 🗓️

Last but not least, we'll be honored to have a very dear guest who has been part of our lives and whose creativity has inspired us as translators. Their abundant work has captured the essence of the Egyptian character. We'll be pleased to have Amr Hosny, dialogue writer and creative translator, who has been part of countless Disney and Pixar movies like Monsters, Inc., Finding Nemo, A Bug's Life, etc. 🎥✨

Remember, it is not solely about aesthetics or humor; it is about dealing with language barriers through innovation.

🎬 Meet the man behind the magic: Amr Hosny.

You guessed, you tagged, you remembered the lines — now here's the name.

عمرو حسني 😎

The scenarist who wrote Egypt's Disney golden age. Monsters, Inc., Finding Nemo, A Bug's Life, Tangled, Frozen — if you grew up laughing at Disney in Egyptian, you grew up on his words.

He didn't just translate the jokes. He rebuilt them, turning James P. Sullivan into شلبي سلوفان and giving us a slogan Disney America itself admitted was better than the English original. 😏

And on 15 October, he's coming to Al-Alsun to tell us how it was done.
