What if the church became the place where LGBTQ+ people felt most loved, most safe, and most whole?

As Pride Month calls us to visibility and truth, we echo BST alum, Rev. Dr. Curtis Price’s vision: that the church can be transformed into a true sanctuary — not just in name, but in practice.

Let the work of healing continue.

What does it take to lead a church that reflects the reconciliation at the heart of the Gospel?
BST Associate Professor and Director of Intercultural Leadership, Dr. A. Brian Leander, explores this essential question in his recent publication, Diversity-Oriented Churches: A Comprehensive Guide to Leading Ministries of Reconciliation.

Diversity-oriented churches are not only growing — they are boldly reimagining how the Church can lead in justice, inclusion, and community transformation. These churches prioritize:

➡️Intercultural leadership at every level
➡️A Gospel-rooted vision for reconciliation
➡️Structures that address conflict and inequality
➡️Practices that value every voice in the body of Christ

📖 In Dr. Leander’s words:

“If the mission of the Church is the formation of one body out of many people who were previously divided socially, then it is reasonable to expect that local churches would be suitable examples of reconciliation, conflict resolution, and intercultural mission effectiveness.”

We are proud to celebrate Dr. Leander’s important contribution to the field and the Church.
