Summer University of AEGEE-Oviedo Discover another Spain inside of Spain! AEGEE-Oviedo assures you every summer the experience of you lives

Forget all you’ve heard about Spanish culture because AEGEE-Oviedo is here to discover you the magnificent region of Asturias, where the history says Spain was born —“Wait, what?” Yes, we know… you’re starting to get shocked. But nothing is comparable to what you’re going to feel, to learn, to enjoy and to taste this summer with us. Imagine a place where distances are ethereal, where you can hike

at an ancient mountain pass (a canyon in between 2000 metres peaks) in the morning, taste the glorious and famous asturian gastronomy (that by the way has nothing to do with paella and sangria) at midday and surf the Cantabric sea waves in the afternoon, get some relax at some of the best beaches in the world and then play paintball at an awesome natural field in the forest. Not even enough for you? What if you could do that trip from the heart of the “Picos de Europa” (the second most mountainous region in Europe, right after Switzerland) to the seashore in a non-conventional way? Does kayaking down the Sella river, most famous one in Northern Spain, sound good to you? What about mountain-biking in the company of two grizzly bears throughout an abandoned coal-train railway? But moving around this legendary land is not all you’ll do. At some point you’ll stand static… learning how to pour from above your head (yes, you’ve read it correctly) a glass Sidra, our most typical drink which you’ll fall in love with in awesome parties and celtic festivals (did you know we have bagpipers in here?). At the end of the day, if there’s something we are not that different with the rest of Spain is in our inner party-animal. And that’s not all, because even though a huge part of our SU will be about adventure, sports and getting in touch with the nature we’ll have time to discover the Asturian traditions, visit the most representative cities (such as Oviedo, Avilés, Gijón) and breathtaking villages with hidden treasures, but also to develop yourself with little trainings that will improve your lives and the ones who are around you. This is not Spain as clichés say. This won’t be a beach and sleep event. This is not going to be a typical Summer University. If you want to discover why, we are waiting for your motivation letters. See you in Asturias next July.

Participants tasted and sweet (while drinking sidra, of course!) just before visiting . They were amazed: "do people really study here? Best views!" 🌳☀
