The workshop “Tourism Sustainability In The Current World We Live In: How Does It Work, Really?” explores how leading tourism companies integrate sustainability into their operations. The session includes a 20-minute presentation by Neus Collado Alsina, followed by a 10-minute Q&A. After a short coffee break, participants will engage in an interactive activity modeled after a United Nations stakeholders meeting, offering a deep dive into the challenges of sustainability in tourism.

Neus Collado Alsina, the speaker, is the founder of the non-profit EverGreen Institute and leader of the consultancy Hivernacle, has spearheaded numerous environmental and social projects globally and nationally since completing her PhD at ICRA in 2013. Now based in Girona and believing in the power of small actions to create positive impacts, she collaborates with local businesses to implement sustainable practices and achieve B Corp certification.

Victor is a self-declared dual tourism passionate, working on both the promotion of tourism as well as experiencing it. His restless nature has him traveling for leisure to match his professional experiences! He graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Tourism and completed two masters, including the European Master in Tourism Management (EMTM). Currently, Victor is working as a Marketing Director at Costa Brava Girona DMO, promoting Costa Brava and the genuine Pyrenees from Girona, the city famous for its film tourism owing to memorable scenes from the tv series Game of Thrones. Victor had several international experiences living in Canada, Germany, Denmark, Slovenia and the Mediterranean Sea region. Victor has worked for more than nine years in the tourism sector in such fields as tourism attractions, cultural tours, wine tourism, destination marketing, the cruise industry and tour operation.

Paloma leads Sustainable Travel International global efforts to maximize tourism's contribution to environmental conservation and community well-being. With over 15 years of experience in sustainable tourism, Paloma has implemented impactful initiatives in 26 nations across the globe. Currently, Paloma manages the organization's Climate Rangers program to engage the tourism industry in climate action and is leading the efforts to define a Carbon Neutral Destination model. Paloma has a postgraduate degree in Tourism Management and a Master's in Business Administration (MBA) from ESADE Business School in Barcelona, Spain. She holds an undergraduate degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering from the University of Florida in the United States.
