One-year master programme in English linguistics, literature and culture. Taught entirely in English.

The Master’s Degree in Advanced English Studies introduces students to state-of-the-art theories, methods and analyses involving the English language, thus meeting the need for continuing education in the field of English studies for professionals both within, and outside, the academic world. The course is
divided into three compulsory modules totalling 60 credits. Methodological module

Specialised module
-Interpersonal communication across genres
-Intercultural communication
-Communication in specialised domains
-Discourse analysis and social inequality
-Discourse in the media
-Applied corpus linguistics
-Second language acquisition: current theories
and their application
-Editing English literary texts
-Literature, art and performance in anglophone
cultures
-Film and literature in anglophone cultures
-Shapes of hope: utopian and dystopian fiction
-North-American fiction of resistance: history,
memory and trauma
-Translating and adapting English literary texts:
ideology, culture, and power
-Translation of specialised texts
